Sing Street

Directed by John Carney. Produced by Anthony Bregman, John Carney, Kevin Scott Frakes, Christian Grass, Martina Niland, Raj Brinder Sign, and Paul Trijbits. Release date: April 15, 2016.

The plot of Sing Street is simple: A boy starts a band to win the affections of a girl. I've heard nothing but amazing things about Sing Street. It's supposedly unbelievably sweet and funny, and contains some pretty solid music. In the cynical world we live in, a movie that manages to be genuinely sweet is a pleasant sight.

Elvis & Nixon

Directed by Liza Johnson. Produced by Holly Wiersma and Cassian Elwes. Written by Joey Sagal, Hanala Sagal, and Cary Elwes. Release date: April 15, 2016.

Kevin Spacey and Michael Shannon play Richard Nixon and Elvis Presley as they meet at the White House in 1970? Okay, that sounds awesome. They don't even need to do much. Those two actors alone are enough to sell me on a movie. Kevin Spacey is almost always amazing, and Michael Shannon continues to be one of the most underrated actors currently working. Putting them up against one another is bound to be entertaining.
