Unskippable: Atelier Rorona Pages 1 2 3 4 5 NEXT
We looked it up: "atelier" means "workshop". It didn't help us understand the game any better.
Edward Elric she is not | |
Who names their kid "workshop"?
More like Alphonse, | |
The "meanwhile in a monkey island game" got me good! Great episode!
Alchemy related fatalities had me in giggles. Also how is the game after this? I'm guessing your standard JRPG but do you guys know?
Wow, I looked this up, seems there's been at least 15 Atelier games. I'd never heard of them. Apparently not that many got out of Japan, but I'd still not seen them. She doesn't seem very competent does she? I loved the Scooby Doo comments!
Obscure Japanese Game: DEPLOYED!
Well it is good astrid id giving jobs to the mentally ill. Also, why do the characters look 20ish in the cut scene and 12 walking around?
I'm assuming they considered Arland/Ireland too easy. The scooby stuff killed me.
People not hearing about Atelier series makes me sad D:
Rharham? Rhaul? Rhooby Dooo! Very funny episode, job well done. You should do Rettecetear an Item Shop's tale as well. That game creeped me out from the intro. It was disturbing on so many levels.
All those Scooby Doo jokes and not one "Ruh-ruh-ruh-ryyyyyy Rorona!"!?
It's anime. :P OT: Loved the episode. Got a few laughs out of it. ^^
Rats! Rou reat re ro rit! I bet there's an infinite void of horrors and madness behind the door. Also known as the JRPG developer's mind.
Wow... that was... very... interesting?
Goddamn jrpgs. I honestly don't think I could manage to play one of these games without clawing my eyes out ripping my ears off.
Pretty much every game in the series is named like this. The only games with worse sounding names are Squaresoft's recent latin mathematics kick, the Y's: The Ark of Nephistim, and Ar tonelico Qoga: Knell of Ar Ciel
Paul sure is gorgeous | |
Atelier can also mean attic or workshop I believe. I'm not sure that helps in the understanding bit though. :P
Actually, that's not a door, it's a cupboard.
Obscure JRPGs are always the most hilarious Unskippable eps. Fantastic.
During travel they enter super-deformed mode.
I had to Google that last one to make sure you weren't joking. That has to win some kind of prize.
I'm really hoping she kicks ass at Alchemy cause with those socail skills you'd be canned from just about every job there is. Good god the writing makes me want to scream, I'm not a writer myself but jeez! Great episode though, I laughed my ass off during this one.
Huh, some of the most awkward dialogue I've ever heard. Doofy soundtrack didn't really help either...anywho, a fine episode gents, though really a terribly unappealing game, to myself atleast.
My reaction to everything that happened in that cutscene: "What the fuck?"
Wow, condolences you had to wade your way through that steaming pile of fecal matter. And I know my piles of steaming fecal matter, believe you me! Seriously, WTH kind of wizardly hand-waving was that backstory anyhow? :/
Same.... Anyway, maybe it's cuz I've always found this art direction charming, but I found myself laughing a lot harder at the commentary this week. Seriously, I was literally laughing out loud every 20 seconds. The observation of the motionless door was especially hilarious. Also, is that Liam O' Brien I hear playing the messenger?
Its the PS3, and apparently it was too taxing for the game to open a door. Wow.
It's actually a decent game.
Well, as stupid as that title sounded, at least it didn't have "wanzer" in it. And what kind of door does NOT open at all?!
The thing is, if you can enjoy or at least tolerate the art direction, the games are actually REALLY good.
The Alchemists have obviously managed to master the quantum-tunneling effect, thus doing away with the time-consuming and often confusing act of opening a wooden door.
Heh, this was a particularly goofy one wasn't it...
Sounded like Steve Blum to me.
wow that cutscene is terrible I can't imagine the rest of this game??
I really loved this one. One of your best imho.
