Jim & Yahtzee's Rhymedown Spectacular: To Kill a Microsoft-bird Pages 1 2 3 NEXT
Put on your poetry hats and join two of the greatest wordsmiths of our generation as they fill your ears with verse.
This is so easily the best show on the site, it's not even funny.
*sniff* *sniff* Oh Jim, that was beautiful...
Just when the Desolation of Smaug teaser trailer was released. Awesome :D
Jim has the voice of an angel. Those little fat baby ones.
It looked like Jim was trying not to laugh to start with. Thank God for Jim and his bard-like standing. However, if Microsoft use force to enslave us all, Jim may get his tongue cut out.
Yes! Down with the with the Great Dragon Microsoft!
f'n A Cotton... f'n A!!!
That was brilliant. | |
haha!! Wow Jim! That is an epic poem if I've ever heard! We should see if Peter Jackson will make a trilogy outta it :) I still hope for a Dr. Seuss style poem from Jim :P
Both good this week, but THAT, my dear Mr. Sterling, was fucking beautiful.
The most powerful Thu'um in all of Skyrim: THREE-NINE-NINE!
Thank you gentlemen for keeping prose amusing. I agree watching Microsoft flounder will be one of the most amusing prospects this coming year.
Jim, you need to do more ballads, that was great. I usually prefer Yahtzee's prose but you easily won me over this week, keep it up.
off topic, but I just want to say... NOT THE MOMMA!
Sinking ships and dragonslayers. If only the two combined.
A cherub? | |
All Jim needet was a lute, and I'd call him a f*****g bard! :D
Both great, but Jim's was just fantastic. Although Dragon's Dick sounds like the name for a porn version of Dragon's Dogma.
Oh man. Jim.....there are no words. You've spent them all.
jim so gets it this week :D
Jim won, primarily because Yahtzee was disqualified for not making a poem. His was just a story. Seriously, where was the rhyming, the pattern, anything? YAHTZEE FAILED THIS WEEK.
Wasnt a fan of Yahtzee's but Jim was just amazing! Bravo good sir!
While listening to yahtzee's I heard maybe 2 rhymes during the story. I dont know if its due to his timing or what but it just wasnt up to snuff.
I will be honest, I didn't like Yahtzee's this week. The point was good, but the rhyming method kept throwing me. Jim's was fantastic, especially the last line.
He used alternate lines (I forget the technical term, rhyming couplets perhaps?): There once was a man called James. It requires a certain pacing to work, and with the pirate speech I found it difficult to keep with it.
cupids then :) Anyway it looked like he was extremely happy :)
Jim's got a surprisingly good singing voice, within his normal range. I liked Yahtzee's too, but apparently the pirate voice is a bit too harsh for his vocal cords.
You guys realize poetry doesn't HAVE to rhyme right? Though it is called the Rhymedown sooo lol. Conflicting.
I swear if you guys do it this week ... *Looks up* Oh mother fu- OT: I like both this week. EDIT: I see that some/the majority didn't treat this as a competition ... my hope is being restored!
So Microsoft is Alduin? Sony is Dragonborn?
Long shall Jack Tretton's name be sung and his deeds immortalized... It is funny how quickly things have changed. Sony's initial reveal was not very good and now they're heroes. It's not even that they did anything particularly well, they just didn't do anything horribly wrong. It's really quite sad. Sony didn't win me over, but Microsoft converted me to Sony. I was strictly a 360 user, but when I finely do get a new console it definitely will not be an Xbox and unfortunately for them, it seems like I'm not even close to being alone.
That was beautiful Jim! :D Thank you. Yahtzee's was a bit unconventional, but ya can tell he tried to make it entertaining. Seemed to be sick. Poor guy. Captcha: for whom does the bell toll? It tolls for the Xbone. ;p
Nice poems. Good singing Jim, but unfortunately the drums didn't match the rhythm of your song.
And yet another reason to thank god for Jim. That song was simply beautiful.
Two clever pieces... although Yathzee needs to choose a better voice that doesn't choke him to death.
Oh that was too good. | |
