Watch Dogs Hacks Everything
A chilling glimpse into the always-on world of tomorrow.
I get more excited for this game everyday. Something new that I just learned about from this review was the morality. I just PRAY it is done tastedully, and doesn't feel shoehorned in like some other games *cough*infamous*cough*. The multiplayer looks hreat as well, as long as it can be toggled off.
"On the multiplayer side of things, you've got a really novel system, whereby you can stealthily drop into another player's game without their knowledge, in an attempt to hack them personally and harvest their data." Little do we know that it's not Ubisoft developing this, but the NSA. OT: I'm really glad it's coming to PC. This pseudo-stealth open-world gameplay is exactly what I've been looking for for quite awhile.
I have really, really high hopes for this game. I will be happy if Ubisoft doesn't screw it up.
I didn't know the NSA made a video game! In seriousness, I'm really excited about this game. It looks beautiful, and I'm very glad I finally got my first ever gaming desktop so now I can play games such as this. Bring it o-- *computer overheats and crashes* Also, that multiplayer idea is brilliant. I am very excited to jump into people's games and subtly hack them while they're roaming around the map. Let the games begin.
With all this talk on being against the system and hacking I'll honestly not be suprised if anonymous makes Adien their new mascot and replace V.
Awesome, will definitely be buying this for my xbox 360
So it's kinda like Infamous, only Anon-flavored. I'm totally okay with this. And it's definitely good to know that the gunfights won't be mandatory. Seriously, shooting is always the least interesting part of whatever game it's in (which is just about all the games at this point). I'm pretty sure this is going to be my first PS4 game.
I was (and still am) somewhat worried that the guns stuff would be too heavily emphasized for my taste. Shooting thing in games just doesn't push my fun button as well as other varieties of violence. I really hope they don't force you to shoot your way out of situations in order to try to make it more exciting.
Exactly | |
Looking forward to this game, so very much. It just seems great!
Ugh. That "moral choice" meter looks like the standard bollocks. From a story standpoint, it'll just be the usual "Art thou mister Nicey Mc-Nicey pants who goes around saving all the little orphans out of the goodness of your heart, or mister Evil Evilthong who sets fire to everything and then pisses on it?" And from a gameplay perspective, it looks like it amounts to no more than doing the occasional sidequest to help out the local "villagers" if they get too sick of you stealing and attacking shit and start reporting you all the time. I dunno. Maybe it's too early to say. But I get the feeling that if they stick with this "moral choice" bullshit, it's going to be one of my biggest complaints about the game.
I think I said this before and I'll say it again. It's "Person of Interest" the game. And as a huge fan of that show the existence of this game makes me so happy. I can't wait.
"On the multiplayer side of things, you've got a really novel system, whereby you can stealthily drop into another player's game without their knowledge" I remember the developers saying that you can't really do that, you have to allow somebody to come.
Stealth-hack multiplayer drop-in? My body was never ready - but I'll try to manage anyway
This game still looks brilliant, and it's premise seems even more poignant with the recent NSA debacle.
This. It was what I thought when I saw the first trailer of the game.
as far as i heard i'm really hoping it to be like that =D of course thats impossible...(._.) so possibly there's a greater spectrum between good and evil well...
I haven't seen that video, thank you for posting that. That interview did make me feel a bit more at ease towards the "reputation" system. It seemed like it wasn't as cut and dry as "don't kill anyone at all if you want the good ending, or kill everything in sight if you want the bad ending" which is cool. Judging from the gameplay footage (especially in the weapon store) it looks like the media reporting on this vigilante has a more organic feel to it. I can't wait to play this.
Hey, neat, I think I've spotted some complexity in this moral choice system. So Aiden doesn't like the omniscient, omnipotent computer system that controls everyone and everything in the city, and he wants it to go away. His (potential) solution, then, is to use that same system to help people--yeah, that's the nice thing to do, but he's also inadvertently proving to the world that Big Brother is actually a good thing. If he's fundamentally anti-ctOS, he should be trying to demonstrate that it's not a good thing, and the ideal way to do that is by causing as much chaos as he possibly can.
yep organic is the right word...=] I can't wait to play this.[/quote] @dreadedcandiru99 in that way it reminded me of the Anime "Psycho-Pass" or the "Dredd" movie of 2012
I dunno...Having a "press X to hack everything" button seems like it could make the game feel a little cheap. Sure, apparently cops can hack you back, trace you or something like that but other games have done similar and it always ends up being an annoyance rather than a legitimate threat, even with high difficulty. I'll give it a shot though, see what the reviews say.
