The Divide

To add further context: In "The Division" you play as an illuminati murder hobo and find out that everyone left alive from the previous illuminati murder hobos has decided to reenact "Lord of the Flies" in the middle of the city. You then extort the populace by forcing them to give you their pants in exchange for red bull.

That's putting it in context? What was it like OUT of context?

Short, sweet, and to the point.

Gotta love a well-structured joke like that. As they say: brevity is the soul of wit. :3

Aww... I was hoping the strip would be about the queue in the first Safe House.

Oh, well. I suppose sometimes it's better not to jump into the bandwagon, and "games being games" is funny enough material.

PS: Are you sure he isn't? Maybe you should make sure... >;)

"Illuminati Murder Hobos" would be an excellent name for a rock band.

To be fair, it's considerably less messed up then the original plans that turned into Rainbow Six: Siege. That game started as Rainbow Six: Patriots (I think that was the title, anyway) and focused on gunning your way through the Occupy movement (recast as terrorists).

To be honest, the beta was fun for me. It didn't have to be absolutely spectacular, it just had to be fun enough and it was. I could easily buy this and play it off and on whenever I feel like it. Few games make me feel like that. I'm not saying its the best thing since sliced bread, its not. But its good enough for a buy from me and that works.

Basically what I expect from Erin no matter what game she's playing. ;)

Yeeeeah, the part where you give them an energy bar and they take off their shirt is kinda creepy.

How many people do we have to kill to save everyone from this virus?!

Yeah, that was basically where I ended up. The only additional caveat is, my budget couldn't take another $120 hit this month (since I'd be paying for two copies). Still, a lot of fun.

I'm waiting myself, budget doesn't support any new games beyond $20 so I will wait. But I can wait as well.

I don't get it... Are these other players in the Dark Zone, or just some normal hoodlums? They look like normal hoodlums (the for some reason incredibly effective cap armor and hankeys covering the face getup), they even fire gangsta style. Wouldn't it have made more sense to have them be other players?

It's because you can often encounter hoodlums leaning over bodies looting them. But it can also look like they're helping.

OT: It was a good comic, and it's usually a tactic I employ

... Until Cleaners start swarming out from everywhere.

Anyone who knows the context of this image knows why it's the greatest.

"But it's not looting when I do it, it's called 'gathering supplies'!"

Adding that our characters are completely unidentifiable as any kind of official.

What do you mean? They have a weird patch that no civilian would notice and a glowing watch, how could they not be identifiable.

I do love how they have to warn the military that the extremely well armed guy running towards them isn't there to murder them every time.

Posting a similar photo in the lounge thread, but I stick by this though.
I just want to see the next comic that's just the queue and...

I am more creeped out by the people that gets a can of soda and drops a military grade sniper rifle at your feet. Where'd they keep that and why would they just drop it on the ground?

noble and just American military

This is how you know it's fictional.

This game was misrepresented to me. Not once have I had to use a mathematical function in this game.

When are they going to release the interesting Tom Clancy game that was showcased at last year's E3 as some free-roaming stealth single player world? These multiplayer fests are not where the series excels. Though they aren't bad. They just aren't brilliant either, not for loner gamers such as one's self.

Where they're keeping it is precisely why they don't want to touch it.

Probably also why the animations are so stiff.

This is pretty fun to play with friends, but unless you want to DZ it up, it's kind of lacking.

Random baddies do respawn, but encounters do not seem to. Also, the random baddies don't seem to be random in the sense of where they'll show up as much as whether or not they'll be here this time. There's a thing of tools near the post office, so it's easy to remember this specific one, and a group of guys spawn right around the corner. It was shocking the first time, because I'd farmed those tools like ten times. Now I check for them first and deal with them if necessary.

You can replay missions like in the beta, but I can imagine this getting tiresome with time.

The problem is, this leaves a largely empty open world. Once you've dealt with the encounters in an area, all there is to do is gather resources (which do respawn) and watch out for the looters and rioters. And with the way the DZ is sequestered, I can't even play with some of my friends right now, which definitely makes it a no-no, but I'm not much on the PVPing anyway.

I mean, they advertised the DZ as the place to get the best loot, not the only part of the game worth replaying.

Wait, doesn't shooting help? Has the NRA been lying to me? I thought guns helped people and guns help kill the virus right? Right?

*shoots another hobo* What virus??

OT: ...And I thought the Badlands were unintentionally hostile...

Other than that, couldn't they have dragged the body out of plain sight to prevent getting shot by an unexpected party?

The only way to stop a bad virus with a gun is with a good virus with a gun.

...wait....

I don't have time to explain why I don't have time to explain, here shoot the virus.

You'll have to buy the DLC to find out.

I am surprised this hasn't sparked more of an outrage, one of the primary activities in the game is gunning down looters (despite your character CONSTANTLY looting) wearing sports capes and hoodies, I don't even wanna go there and it seems neither does the rest of the internet.
