This is just the start, if they can offer them at such a cheap price now when its just starting out think of what it will be like in 10 or 20 years. They might become incredibly cheap and widely available. They could even replace cars I'd imagine if the technology advances enough. Also no more being a bedridden cripple when your old, just jump around in a robot suit.

One can only hope. I think that tech like this has loads of potential, and I can't wait to see where it goes.

ZOMG! WHATS ITS POWER LEVEL?!

How soon until someone with one of these murders many, many people.

We are doomed.

Ohhhh dear.

To be honest, a suit like that would be awesome, let's just hope terorists won't get a hand on that baby, 'cause if they do we'd be pretty much fucked...

for 5 hours...

It's more than enough they need to fuck everything up.

I have known about this technology for a year now and cannot help but feel that it is a good thing. Aside from what TRoAE mentioned in his post, it has also been stated that this technology will help people with bone density or Paralysis issues be able to do things that normal humans take for granted. I see nothing wrong with this technology and hope that it becomes even more widespread in the next upcoming years.

I just want this mind control stuff to make its way to video games already. Getting real sick of learning new controls or trying to do a fireball and have it come out an uppercut. I want these lame ass controllers to be obsolete.

It'll never work. It's called HAL, so any time you try to do something with it, it'll say 'I'm sorry, *insert name here*, I'm afraid can't do that.'

I remember seeing videos about this. Sometimes, it will pick up the signals in your body before your body does and move your body for you. Holy crap.

They are not the only one doing these sorts of things:

For those who are interested in these kinds of things.

the world is saved

IT'S OVER NINE-THOUSAAAAAAAAAAAAAND!!

(sorry for double posting)

Frakkin' awesome, looks like this thing could be a huge leap in terms of disaster rescue teams, heavy industrial jobs, people with movement disabilities and of course, pretending to be either batman or iron man.

XD

but seriously it will probably be used for crime eventually :P

or bad ass dbz fights =D

Do. Want.

can i finally fulfill my dreams of being a ninja! and having less leg pain!!=D

wonder if mothers will form a MADC?

Am I the only person ahead of the curve on this? Sure, I'm pretty much a die-hard transhumanist, but HAL's been in the news multiple times over the past two years. I know everyone comments on the name, but seriously, this is a good thing and I expect to see a lot more of this sort of thing over the next decade or so.

This exoskeleton matter is quite interesting. Too bad it's not endoskeleton, though. Then it'd have something to do with my interests.

that is AWESOME, that is the coolest thing I've seen in ages, if that thing can make me run faster I am so getting one. I can't wait until they make one more agile.

I hope it doesn't go crazy like another HAL I can think of.

Next up: Lasers.

I wonder how high I can jump in that thing?

Heaven forbid the terrorists get them! They'll carry bags of rice at us!

Seriously, considering the cost and relative rarity of these things, as well as the specific nature of the assistance they provide the user, I don't think these particular augmentation suits are going to be a significant weapon in the aresenal of terrorists / extremists.

I don't even think they'll be useful for crime fighting, since any crime fighter who relied on the strength of this suit wouldn't last very long against, say, bullets.

Looks like the World is determined to cause the Machine uprising before the next Terminator is released.

Still want an exoskeleton though, even if I do just walk to the shops in it.

We're one step closer to real-life gundams! Awesome? Probably not.

OMMFG !!!!

That is awesome !!

I want one !!

NOW !!

Get out of here, Stalker!

Will it allow us to wield mini guns?

This must be fake, really, how can it NOT be fake?

Wow, that's impressive.

I still could beat the shit out of the guy wearing this. Just grab him by the wasit/legs, bring him down and he's yours :)

._. O.O :P *explodes from awesome overdose*

Oh that is cool.

Once again, sci-fi is like some kind of self-fulfilling prophecy. You saw communicators and tricorders in Star Trek, now you have cellphones and scanning devices. Things that made instant food and drink? Hello microwaves and coffeemakers. No doubt this was inspired by all the anime and giant robot shows that originate from Japan and which many people, me included, have enjoyed.

Gotta love that technology.

Cyberdyne. Cyborgs. Well if the apocalyse isn't caused, then freakin' awesome.
