Rumor: E3 Floor Plan Reveals Mass Effect 3, Dragon Age II

image

An interactive "E3 Floor Plan" published by GameSpot seems to indicate that both Dragon Age II and Mass Effect 3 will be at the show. Oh, and Tecmo's Dead or Alive 5, too.

Gaming site GameSpot has a pretty nifty E3 Showfloor Map up on its site to mercilessly tease and torment those of us who aren't going to the show this year. Click on the name of the publisher or developer, and you'll get to see what they'll be boasting at the event.

If you click on the EA booth, however, you may notice two games that haven't actually been officially unveiled yet, both from EA's BioWare division: Mass Effect 3 and Dragon Age II. This isn't to say that we didn't know that the two games were coming - an early 2011 arrival for something Dragon Age-related was teased back in March, and Mass Effect was planned as a trilogy from the get-go.

But if true, this is the first time we'll see the two games in action. Which will be pretty cool, don't you think? It seems that BioWare has been busy up in its doom fortress buried beneath the frozen wastelands of Canada.

Now, none of this is confirmed until E3 starts next week: This could be a mistake in data entry on the part of GameSpot, or perhaps just a very educated guess. However, assuming that GameSpot has inside data and this is real (which again is by no means assured), there's at least one other brand-new game on that list: Tecmo's Dead or Alive 5. One wonders how the series will shape up following creator Itagaki's highly publicized departure from Team Ninja - my guess? It'll be as bouncy as ever.

Oh, and the map also lists Final Fantasy Versus XIII at the Square-Enix booth - which might answer the question of whether the game will make a long-awaited appearance at this year's show. Then again, it might not.

Curiouser and curiouser indeed. I wonder what other surprises next week has in store.

Update: Someone took it down. Whether that's a "whoops, we weren't supposed to reveal that" or "whoops, we were wrong/guessing and we got found out" is up to you.

I couldn't possibly care less about Mass Effect 3, as it will be even more dumbed down than 2, likely.

But Dragon Age 2...that excites me. I hope for better combat animations. They all felt so...stiff.

I hope for news on Fable 3 and Saint's Row 3, too.

Mass Effect 3? Holy balls YES!

I am excite.

Dead or Alive 5? YES! Finally! Oh, if only you guys can see my reaction now.

I haevent even gotten to ME2 yet...(I own it, but I need to finish replaying 1 to my specifications, cause there is no way Im having a dead Wrex in 2)

That's too soon imo. I LOVED both those games but I'm worried they will be rushed if they're this quick about it.

Golden Sun DS, Zelda Wii and Okamiden =3 this might the the greatest E3 ever.

:D

That is all.

They're not listed on the map any more. Fast work by somebody.

Cant wait for dragon age 2! Just hope they dont ruin it...

I think the real question is why Dragon Age II uses Roman numerals, while Mass Effect 2 uses standard ones. There has to be some deeper meaning here ;)

Can't wait for EA's conference, it should be incredible :-)

FINAL FANTASY VERSUS XIII! YEAH!

Calumon: Well, Dragon age is in the Past, Mass Effect is in the Future. :p

YES! HOLY SHIT YES! I loved both games, can't wait for some info.

Shame I'll never get to go to E3...

Where's the TOR section? Bioware, I am disappoint.

Dragon Age II?

Oh boy oh boy oh boy.....

Yeaaah, I fell in love with Dragon Age :D

This excites me!

me and my friend fainted seeing this

I feel the exact opposite. I'm really excited about Mass Effect 3, don't care about Dragon Age 2 (since the combat sucked ass, especially at the beginning for anything but Wizards, and the expansion pack was pretty bad). Fable 3 is a giant MEH, SR3 too.

Unless they improve the crappy combat from DA, that is.

I'm looking forward to Mass Effect 3. Hopefully they'll keep the proper cover-based shooter system from ME2, but the in-depth RPG elements from the original.

Dragon Age 2? Loved the gameplay and story from the original. If they make the graphics good enough that you actually feel involved and fix the bugs, I'm buying it for sure. But they were kind of stretching the story with Awakening, and since its an expansion, doesn't the story have to work even if you didn't buy it? And how are they going to make the story work? Will it use some Architect gimmick (which won't work if you killed him, so I guess not), or will it involve you not doing something for the Grey Wardens? We've had so many choices in the previous games, I fail to see how it'll work without at least 3 completely different and seperate stories. I don't want Dragon Age's story messsed up! I LOVED IT! Still, if anyone can do this, it's BioWare. Good luck to them, I guess.

Abedeus:

Bioware can't make DLC to save their damn lives. I don't know what the hell is wrong with the DLC team...Everything they made is shit. Especially that Firewalker pack bullshit.

Its not that bad. Alot of the time from me1>2 was because of the massive rework they did. It using the same system, being already written just means they need to do the work behind it.

Fable 3 will promise things then never deliver on them.

Indeed. But I never listen to the hype train. I just want to see more of John Cleese, really. I take games for what they are. Not what I wanted them to be.

Seriously? No! No! NOOOOOO! That can't be. PLEASE don't let it be true!

ME3, already? Geez not wasting any time! Well, not going to complaint at all!

i only hope for fable 3 masss effect 3 and DAO 2

They're back, if they went.

As for ME3 and Dragon Age 2. Eh. I don't think it'll be Dragon Age 2, personally, I'm guessing it's a tenative title. There was that EA press release thingy earlier in the year which said "Dragon Age (PC/Consoles/Handheld)" which is seriously making me doubt it's DA2 and more of a tie-in title. It seems just a little too soon for DA2. Mass Effect 3 though? Woot. Bring it on!

The lack of Mirror's Edge 2 disturbs me greatly, though.

Mass Effect 3. I am very excited about this. I've heard people complain about it and saying that it's just for the money, but Mass Effect being a TRILOGY right from the start, it's only natural it has a third part. There is really nothing that can really stop me from being excited about this one. Except if they require project Natal for it.

Dragon Age 2. Probably gonna be good, will be interesting to see what it's like, since the first one... well... it ended.

I've seen fakes like this before. I'll reserve judgement for the official line on whether there's going to be floorspace for ME3 or DA2. And that guy who said ME2 was dumbed down? No, you're still not cool yet. It was precisely the same level of intelligence and wit as the first one, with massively improved combat mechanics.

Dragon Age was finished way before it was released in 2009 so i think by 2011, its a good enough time for a sequel.

Wait, there are people who say Mass Effect, a planned trilogy from the first day of announcement, is just milking it?

...I have no words.

Unfortunately that turns against them. I really wanted fable 2 to be good. I enjoyed fable1. I like to make decisions. For example butch in fallout 3. I decided right at my birthday if I ever got the chance I was going to kill him. i am the protagonist you do not screw with me. You sure as shit don't nonchalantly disrespect me.

Part of the reason I liked rdr so much. Dude takes my hat, he gets shot. Dead man accuses me of cheating at cards, I remind him with 4 bullets in his face. Guy strings me along to do his dirty work instead of being straight with me. Fire bottle to his face as he lays on the ground.

Most of this was story line. Things that the game wanted me to do, not that I chose.

In fable 2, I grew attached to my little character. I felt bad when asshole shot my sister in front of me. The only family I had. Then he made the mistake of shooting me too. At that moment I decided he was a dead man. No awww I'll forgive you shit. Dead, in the biggest way possible. Compounded by the fact right before the end he shoots my dog, the only thing I had left from my childhood. Whom over the course of the game I had also grown rather attached to. Then no vengeance, I just show up and shoot him, maybe reaver shoots him. Then I get grief from my companions about my choice? When I wanted my dog/sister back, and Hanna gave me shit, I wanted to at least beat her mercilessly right there.

I am still waiting for resolution on that game. The fact in later dlc they gave you the option to change your dog was bullshit. He wanted that dog to feel special, it can't be special if you change it around at whim.

Dammit Bioware! Why do they torment my soul? Dragon Age 2 AND Mass Effect 3? My Internet connection will weep and beg for mercy as I dual pre-order both these things. And my hardrive will choke on its own blood as I fill it to utter capacity.

And let's not get into what this'll do to the remnants of my social life. Dammit but you could tell me that Bioware is a Columbian Drug Cartel at this point their stuff is so addictive.
