Disney Paints a Collector's Edition for Epic Mickey

Disney Paints a Collector's Edition for Epic Mickey

An early retail listing has revealed a planned Collector's Edition for Junction Point Studios' Disney Epic Mickey.

A listing over on the Toys R Us website has outed and detailed a Disney Epic Mickey Collector's Edition that will launch alongside the regular version. Mickey fans will no doubt be forced to shell out a couple more sawbucks for this new edition, as it'll contain a few exclusive mouse-themed goodies.

The best part of the Epic Mickey Collector's Edition is a five-inch tall Mickey figurine that definitely isn't of Scrapper Mickey. It also comes in a special box splashed with Mickey paint, a game disc and behind-the-scenes DVD splashed with Mickey paint, a Wii Remote faceplate splashed with Mickey paint, and Wii console skins splashed with Mickey paint. You would think painting is a theme in the game or something.

Sadly, that's basically it. Toys R Us has the Epic Mickey Collector's Edition listed for $69.99, which isn't a bad deal for a little Mickey figurine and some skins, but it feels a little skimpy after all of the other Collector's Editions that we've been spoiled with lately. Still, it's not bad, I guess.

Disney Epic Mickey will be released exclusively on the Nintendo Wii (for now) and is expected to hit stores this holiday season.

Looks awesome. Too bad I don't have a Wii. Gotta love Collector's Editions.

As far as collector's editions go, this isn't bad, but I don't think I'd pay extra for the wii skins, maybe if it had a statuette or something, I'd buy.

Why haven't you guys reported the Gran Turismo Signature Edition yet? It blows holes in most collector's editions announced thus far. To be fair, I think it's only being released in Europe and Australia, but hell, you can win a f***king Mercedez-Benz.

I find it odd that this collector's edition gets called "not bad" at best, "skimpy" at worst. Yet this will apparently own our wallets?

I'm assuming its just due to differing preferences between the two article's writers. Personally I see the figurine and Wii skins as something a little more different, compared to the standard soundtrack/artbook that comes with just about every collector's edition.

Well Epic Mickey looks ready to fight for the #1 position on the list of most wanted gift this holiday season. In position #2: F.L.U.D.D. units.

While I am intrigued by the the figurine and the dvd, the total package itself looks rather bland, even if it is an extra $20 more.

However, if they throw in an artbook before the release date, then color me very interested indeed.

Yes, we aren't a collective mind like the Borg, yet.

Bah, keep it. Another generic Mickey model no more interesting than any of the others released within the last 82 friggin years.
Give us that awesome creepy looking Epic Mickey you bastards!

Btw, Mickeys real name is Mitchell Mouse... wtf? O_o

10$ extra for a dvd, figurine, etc? That's not to bad. I may actually buy that.

I can't believe they're calling it Epic Mickey. It just seems so trite - until now I was under the impression that it was just a codename, much like Project Dolphin for the Gamecube.

I wouldn't charge more than £40 for it in the UK, since it's a simple skins+DVD+figurine deal.

This might be the first collector's edition of Anything I by ever... I want it.

How is it trite? Sure Mickey Mouse hasn't been epic in a while, but this game promises (and looks like) a return to epicness that Mickey hasn't had in years. Plus, in this game, you can make Mickey an Anti-Hero! How is that not awesome?

Man years ago I got over the fact that Mickey was a slang term for penis here in Ireland. But phrases like "Epic Mickey" and "Splashed with Mickey paint" are reverting me back to a ten year old boy.

EDIT: The five inch mickey figurine's not helping.

In the future everyone will be a Collector's Edition.

Actually, that's not bad. For 70 bucks? Yeah, that's actually a bargain. I'm getting the regular version myself, but maybe if there's some still available, I'd probably get it.

Not too bad for the price, I have to admit. And, I wouldnt mind picking it up myself

Haha I love this, maybe for Gears of War 3 we can just splash blood on, CD's, Controllers, and we can even have a figure of Carmine getting eatin by white blood cells! :D! But really, couldn't they have more of a creative idea?

I'm interested. $69.99 is the same price you pay for the regular versions of some games. It's almost like they're actually giving us free stuff we can use.

Thank you. I did not know that.
