Buy DJ Hero 2, Get DJ Hero For Free

If you missed out on the first DJ Hero but are thinking about buying the sequel, Activision's willing to give you the first game for free.

If you're planning to pick up DJ Hero 2, then good news: Activision is going to give you a free copy of DJ Hero as an extra treat. However, this deal is only applicable if you happen to be picking up either the Party or Turntable Bundles.

If you're buying the game for yourself, then you'll probably just want to pick up the Turntable Bundle, which is selling here in North America for $99.99. The Party Bundle, meanwhile, is $150, but comes with two turntables instead of the usual one.

While DJ Hero certainly enjoyed some brisk sales, it wasn't exactly the blockbuster that so many people expected it to be. It seems likely that the publisher really wants to make the sequel more appealing for consumers by giving them some extra bang for their buck. That said, this sale bonus is a great deal, especially if you never picked up a copy of the first game.

I'm guessing the free copies of DJH were extras that they couldn't sell.

Still, its a nice 'buy one get one free' deal.

Not a bad deal for $100: 2 games and a turntable. I loved the first, but I hope the turntables work better then the 1st games did. Mine broke fairly quickly.

So basically 'Pay more and get something extra free''
oh well. Still dont think ill bother. wont fit on my desk for a start

This is incredible. :D

Now I just need to think of a single reason for wanting either DJ hero in the first place.

if you were on the fence this may do it.

Precisely, the only time Activision will even attempt to offer value is in despiration at a warehouse full unsold mediocrity. Me thinks they manufactured more than they managed to sell, will it be one of those "Whilst stocks last" things or will Bobby K. apear on public acess TV and annouce that "Crazy bobby is overstocked on DJ Hero! We're just giving them away!! Not $10 not $5 but $0 dollars*!! How can we afford these prices you ask? Becuase we're craaaazy about deals!"

I'm not poking fun at Activision, I just feel it's silly to spend $100 on games that could easily be replicated by turning on the radio while playing a used Simon Says game, perhaps with a recorded tape of some cheering from a football match for when you win big.

that's like saying "buy one bag of my drunken taco-night shit, and get the second bag FREE! we'll even include FREE holes for your bag!"

Sounds like a good deal...(Since I paid my guitar hero guitar...Stupid Wal-mart and your lying low-prices)

Although, my buyer-senses are tingling...

well... thats a nice feath, considering i´m getting DJH2 just because some songs are good, perhaps i might enjoy the firstone.

activision giving something for free?

they must have done it while kotick wasnt looking

Which country? Everywhere? That would be awesome. I was thinking about getting DJ Hero.

Would make sense. People who haven't got a turntable get both, and the people who has a turntable already have DJ Hero 1.

You know, the best part is that most people who rag on DJ Hero never actually played it.

For everyone who complains about Guitar Hero/Rock Band stagnating, DJ Hero was a brilliant mix-up of the genre.

Since I'm diametrically opposed to a good amount of the music in these games, this hasn't sold me on the games at all.

I mean, really. Who's idea was it to put freaking Hollaback Girl on the first one?

Still not worth it to me lol. Sorry.

Now, if only I could find a reason to want DJ Hero.

Can I make that Rockband 1/2 instead?

Might as well give the first game away for free. I mean, it's not like anyone's buying it.

When does this come out? If it is too close to Rock Band 3...

I might actually buy this as DJ hero was surprisingly fun when I played it at a friend's place.

Sounds interesting, and DJ Hero does look like an interesting spin on the music genre.

But, as I've said before, I'm not buying it. Not because it looks like a crap game, but because Activision is publishing it and I don't want to give them my money, no matter how tempting it is. I may be missing out on a god-send to the music genre, and I don't care. Thank Bobby Kotick for that.

However, as I had stated before aswell, I do wish a good game upon those who are going to get it. No reason you shouldn't get your money's worth. It's your choice to buy the game, and subsequently support Activision, and that's perfectly fine, I respect that decision. I just personally will not support them, no matter how small it is.

Enjoy your game, I mean that in the most sincere way possible.

If you couldn't sell the first game then why make a second...?

So if I was going to get DJ hero 2 and already have the first, I can just sell it back to them and get about $10 off?

I am really excited for this. The only problem with the last DJ Hero was that the price did not merit people's investment into a new, strange product. It had the advertising and it was a well received, just pricey. It sounds pretty familiar... Kinda like Guitar Hero.

I would expect DJ Hero 2 to spread much better.

Let me know when they release IIDX for Wii/360/PC. I have a PS2 only for the bajillion IIDX import games, and now that I've found Lunatic Rave 2 (which works nicely with the official controller) I hardly have a need for the PS2.

I suppose thats one way to shuift a game that sold slowly, heh

Did you miss the part where the first DJ Hero sold a million and a half copies? In what world is that even remotely a failure?

YES!!! I knew waiting would be worth it!

I wanted this game a lot, but couldn't justify the price tag. With double songs now I definitely can :D

I was on the fence. This DOES do it. Party Bundle, here I come!
