Michael Bay Vigorously Denies Claims of 3D Problems on Next Transformers Movie

Your writers are idiots, and you're an idiot, Mr. Bay. Go fuck yourself, and go shove your explosives up your ass, you hack-job cunt.

Great, more of Michael Bay's robot tea-bagging, but now in 3D!

Spencer Petersen:
First, Dark Side of the Moon? Seriously, that subtitle sucks, and I'm pretty sure its just so people will associate the movie with something not worth a pile of shit.

Zeeky_Santos:
Dark side of the moon? Really? You're Pink Floyd are you now Mr Bay? God damn.

Okay, I just grabbed you two because I don't feel like quoting EVERY person that decided to take the Pink Floyd shot at the movie.

I'm going to take a guess that none of you know shit about TransFormers, so I will enlighten you. There is a character called Unicron, one of the oldest transformers in the universe who acts as a universal destroyer and the yin to Primus' yang. Granted, that has no bearing on anything but what does matter is that his alternate form IS A FUCKING MOON!

So while it is terribly fashionable to rip on everything that Bay touches and breathes on, maybe you want to pick your fights a little more carefully? Not that I'm defending him, the fact that this movie is going to be in 3D pisses me off to no end, but I get pissed off when people decide to take ignorant shots at me, so it seems fair enough that I refuse to let you do it to someone else.

Amnestic:

OT: It´s Transformers:The Dark of the Moon (stupid title,i know). The Dark Side of the Moon would enrage Pink Floyd Fans ;)

"The Dark of the Moon"? That doesn't even make sense. You do appear to be correct though. At least "Revenge of the Fallen" made grammatical sense. "Dark of the Moon" sounds...ridiculous.

Well its indeed "Dark of the moon"...Bay confirmed it himself.I first heard about it here(http://www.latinoreview.com/news/and-the-official-title-of-transformers-3-is-11309).

Yes, and i know...it still makes no sense whatsoever.

castlewise:
Wait, there is another transformers movie? WHHHYYYYY :(

Because people like me want them no matter how bad they are. More Transformers please. I hate 3D but lets see if Michael Bay can actually live up to the one true 3D movie which was enjoyable as well: Avatar.

So he made the movie for 3D? PREPARE FOR GRATUITOUS AMOUNTS OF ROBOTS JUMPING OUT AT YOU IN RIDICULOUS WAYS.

Well...you might be fine with "The Dark Side of The Moon"...but what about its real title:"The Dark of the Moon". I shit you not...that´s the actual title. I didnt skip a word.

I found the fact that Bay has already finished filming Transformers 3 more surprising then his ineffective childish smack talking.

Your 3D will suck Bay. And it will cause me pain(headache, mild sickness), so take your 3D and shove it up your ass.

He should totally rename it Transformers: More that Meets the Eye, just for giggles ^^

What... it's better than Transformers 3D xP

Of all the things I expect to be able to complain about in this movie, 3D is the least of my worries.

The Transformers movie quality is already in a steep decline, now they are shooting for 3D?!
The badness of it will be legen... wait for it... dary, legendary!

Did...you not read the first half of my post? I feel like you didn't read the first half of my post. You should read the first half of my post. Because I'm mentioning the first half of my post.

Granted, I think I'm the only TransFan on the escapist, but I've been keeping up with the production details since the last movie ended. They were already dropping hints that Unicron might be the next bad guy in the 3rd movie, and as I mentioned in the first half of my post, HE'S A FUCKING MOON. So I actually don't have a problem with the title, since, well, HE'S A MOON and, well, HE'S EVIL. So the "Dark of the Moon" is a rather fitting title, no?

Also, if I've learned ANYTHING from Michael Bay's butchery of my favorite childhood toys and cartoons, they are his movies, and as such he can do whatever he feels like with them. He's already shown he has no interest in listening to his audience, so complaining about it isn't going to do a lot of good.

Ugh... I really can't see Bay films working in 3-d. Shaky cam and close ups of robot legs was jarring enough in 2-d.

Well, let's just hope for the best... maybe the story might be good this time? Right? About robots this time? Maybe? No random cameos from oompa loompas masquerading as Jordanians (or Egyptian... wait where was that border again?)? Less time wasting college sequences?

...

I'm going to go cry now.

So apparently I'm the only person who enjoys these films. They're terrible, I'm aware of that, but they don't take themselves seriously at all. Plus, the action scenes are good, the explosions are good, the CGI is fucking fantastic and you get to watch giant robots beat each other up while an attractive woman bounces around in slow motion.

Maybe it's because I never watched the cartoons as a kid, but I can't help but think nostalgia is playing a massive part when people claim it's 'raping their childhood'. Everyone seems to forget that the Transformers cartoons were designed for the sole purpose of selling toys, and, from what I've seen, were pretty much all bad all the time.

Edit: That being said, 3D is a terrible idea for this film. No way in hell I'm seeing it like that. I'll stick to 2D thanks.

I´m not sure what you want me to read...could it be the first half of your post? Ok, that said... I assure you there are more transformers fans out there. I loved the cartoons and i didnt dislike the first movie, so chill out. Also...i know that unicron is a , ahem, "FUCKING MOON". You dont need to go all Caps Lock on me. I was just trying to inform you that the correct title was The Dark of the moon, since there seems to be a common misunderstanding concerning that.

Knowing that Bay can do whatever he wants and that he wont listen to our complaints doesnt mean we cant express our opinions (thats what forums are for) and disagree with his film choices...like the horrible title of this movie, which you seem very fond of.

And yes, even though it has Unicron and deals with the moon, i find that the title "dark of the moon" sounds odd (it looks like it needs another word in it...like "the dark side of the moon",lol) and lame. But of course its just my opinion. You´re welcome to have your own.

Well, look on the bright side. Transformers 3 cannot possibly be worse than 2.

Why? Because this movie doesn't feature Megan Fox.

marcogodinho:
OT: It´s Transformers:The Dark of the Moon (stupid title,i know). The Dark Side of the Moon would enrage Pink Floyd Fans ;)

So it's about a solar eclipse? EXCITING! Anyways, why do people keep seeing these movies? Do they like terrible movies being made?

HAHAHA, that is amazingly funny
"WATCH IT ON 3D OR YOU WILL MISS THE GOOD STUFF!!!!"

yeah right, i migth only watch it after proof that "shaky cam" works with "3d" without you throwing up

also:

When I first saw the title I seriously thought that was a joke, but then the article kept using it - the next Transformers film is actually called "Dark Side of the Moon"? That is hilarious. Also baffling.

Prediction: The Dark Side of the moon is that it is, in fact, Unicron, encrusted with millions of years worth of dust after the Allspark zapped him in alt mode and made him bluescreen. I mean hibernate. Allspark's gone so Unicron is slowly (or quickly depending on your concept of time if Unicron is millions of years old) waking up.

Anyways I swatched the first 20 minutes or so of I Love You Beth Cooper before I had to quit watching it on Netflix. It was Transformers without the robots, and Spider Man without the tights. In other words it was unwatchable. Did that movie do well? If it did then adding that sort of thing is what's going to be the norm for a long time because it's easy and it makes money.

The best thing for this sort of movie is if Sex and Other Drugs does incredibly well because that will make directors like Bay sit up and take notice, not criticism because whenever someone says to Boll or Bay "You're a hack!" They just respond with "Rich too!"

two types of people hate on the film, by and large:
1: Nerds whom grew up loving the toys and feel the movies rape their childhood
2: People whom want to look like/feel they're 'smarter than the masses' and as such hate on movies that exist just to be fun times.

Haters Gonna Hate

I've made a post or two about how I feel Mr. Bay has done a pretty damn good job capturing the spirit of playing with toys, and used CGI to take a boy's imagination to the extreme. A third movie, in 3D, seems almost unimaginable to me, assuming he avoids the cheesy 3D show-offs, and instead uses it just to enhance the effects of the movie.

This is a terrible idea. I couldn't tell what the fuck was going on when it was in 2D. I know for a fact that Michael Bay is not going to use 3D "correctly." He's going to use it to throw you back in your seat every time a transformer shows up on screen (which is not very often given the name of the movie). 3D should be used for immersion, and Michael Bay has no clue when it comes to that.

No thanks. Pass. The sad part is that this movie will top the box office and people will claim that it's the best thing ever, just like all the other Transformers movies.

I still can't get over how stupid the title of this one is.

Look at the cute little hypocrite.

You forgot one, by the way:

3) People who don't like horrible writing, acting, and movies in general.

First off, the RE movie, despite being mostly "meh" or average showed off how 3D could be used right (by mixing it with the already sickening trend of matrix/300 slowmo sequences in fights for making those "money shots," and yes I know those of you like me who saw that movie just groaned, even more over the top). However, this was 3D mixed with clean camera movement, and it show cased one thing that will be the downfall of Bay here: 3D make swirling movement and large camera shifts feel like real movement. Shaky cam is the worst fucking thing to mix it with .

Second, Bay, leave Transformers alone. At first, you only made us a bit upset, but your last run with it was horrible. Why are you even continuing this now if you've already made it clear you hate the giant robots that are supposed to be the main characters (not your goddamn annoying as hell humans)?

Lastly, what did Pink Floyd do to you?

I'm not seeing this movie unless I'm paid to, and even then I'd give the money to a charity to balance out Bay receiving revenue from this.

pauljefferson:
So he's saying don't see it in 2D. So for those of us for who 3D doesn't work should we just not see it?

Sounds like a fair bit of discrimination to me.
I say you go after him and take a nice out of court settlement.

ot;
I was not going to see it in two dimensions now I can choose not to see it in a third.

Oh for goodness sake... Movie developers need to start watching reviews and start knowing when their movies start to suck, then STOP MAKING MORE!!!

As well reasoned as your argument is, it's not gonna stop anyone from taking note that it bears the same name as one of the greatest albums of the 20th century.

I do believe Mr. Bay reads the Financial Times. *Tssssssss*

God, am I the only one who enjoys Michael Bay's mecha-porn?

Seriously, why does everyone loathe this series of Transformers movies? I just can't understand it. It's giant robots fighting with lasers and rockets in space and stuff, what more do you want?

Now, the fact that it's in three dee isn't particularly wonderful, but hey, at least it's coming in 2D as well, right?

Apparently I was ninja'd by the guy with the clever avatar.

I'm planning to watch and most likely enjoy that film like i have the previous ones
i don't see all the hat towards these films it's just about giant robots fighting each other whats not to love?
