XToaster360 Will Red Ring Your Toast

XToaster360 Will Red Ring Your Toast

The best way to sneak an Xbox 360 into the house is to disguise it as a toaster.

If your parents or significant other have been nixing the idea of bringing a videogame console into the house, you might want to try picking up YouTube user ncarouso11's Xbox 360 mod. His XToaster360 might perform all of the same functions of an Xbox 360, but it looks like a four-slot toaster.

For the mod, Ncarouso11 took the guts of an Xbox 360 and assembled them inside of the case of a toaster. Just make sure nobody else in the house likes toast, because I'm pretty sure the Xbox 360 doesn't like having bread shoved into it.

The XToaster360 is turned on by pushing a knob, which causes gorgeous blue lights to illuminate the toaster slots, while the Xbox 360 disc tray can be ejected by using one of the toaster's levers. The lights on the front of the toaster that might normally be used to indicate the toast level of each slot are instead used for the Xbox 360's status. Do not put this toaster on high.

It's a very nice piece of work, and those wide open slots on the top make it seem like the XToaster360 has plenty of ventilation. It'd be even cooler if the XToaster360 could also make breakfast, but heating up bread and videogames are two things I think are acceptable to keep separate. Ncarouso11 hopes to sell the XToaster360 and to create more "bigger and better" mods like this in the future.

Microsoft'll stop 'em from selling it.

Regardless, that looks pretty awesome.

Would be so much cooler if it actually made toast. Then again, my 360 gets so hot it probably CAN make toast.

Now if only I did not hate Microsoft I would be interested

I remember someone doing something like this with a Nes i think it was....

Anyways, thats pretty awesome =D

Meh. The normal 360 will toast it just as fast.

Put it on top, and put in Halo: ODST.

ODST makes my 360 work quite hard just to get to the title screen for some reason.

That was Loading Ready Run's Commodore Hustle series, Matt's got turned into the NESbox by Paul.

I love Commodore Hustle...

Personally I would rather have an xbox that played NES games than a toaster.

Felt more like an ad for Black Ops than showcasing the console.

OT: Looks pretty funky though

I'm thinking he should incorporate the heating vents into toasting... COME ON! Who doesn't want their 360 to toast their bread?

I much prefer the steampunk mod. Can't find a video for it but the controller is epic!!!

I was expecting a toaster add on for the 360 :(

Still, very cool none-the-less.

I'll wait for it to be able to actually toast foods before I invest in this.

Not only is this cool, it probably won't RRoD. I'd buy it...

Next time, he should make it so that it ALSO...

...makes toast.

Sweet...If it only could toast bread it would be perfect.

Get your hands on a Nintoaster, and you'll have the coolest house appliances ever.

Meh, I was more impressed with the Nintoaster, since that thing actually looked like a toaster. This one looks more like an oddly-shaped GameCube.

Nevertheless, I commend ncarouso11 for his effort.

ZING!

AVGN got there first.

But then how do you justify keeping a toaster next to your flatscreen?

I suddenly want a 360.

AVGN did it first. The guy who made the video is obviously the IRate Gamer.

I think my parents would've looked more surprised if I brought a toaster to my house instead of a 360..
Still awesome though.

all i saw in the title was X-360 "red ring" and "Toast"...i was like NOOOOOOOOO!!!the new 360 has a red ring of death....i just bought a 360 so i got scared for a minute...

This reminds me of the AVGN's Nintoaster, which played NES games. I wonder if the same guy made this...?

I've got a good question - if you put the 360 in a different case, does that require some sort of hacking/jailbreaking/whatever like on PSP or iPod Touch? Or does he just take it out of the old one and put all the parts together in a new one?

Yeah, it's called the Nintoaster. The Angry Video Game Nerd owns one.

Now all we need is a toaster that looks like a games console in disguise...

Just in case you have a crazy family member who hates toast...

Looks great but I have to wonder: What's next? Cylons that play PS3 games?

I would imagine it is basically the same method as what Ben Heck uses. It definitely voids the warranty but I doubt it counts as jailbreaking.

Wow, that's a work of creative magic there. I think the only problem I have with it is the disk slot in the side. It seems like it would be so much cooler if you actually loaded the disk into one of the toast slots.

Oh, and another idea: instead of those little buttons in front lighting up for the controller connection, why not have the four slots set up to show a green light for each connected controller?

I've heard that if you play on Xbox Live with a hacked or modified Xbox 360, then they block that Xbox from getting online anymore. I'm wondering if this would do that, because it appears that all he's doing is taking the parts out of the original Xbox case and putting them into a custom one - I'm just wondering if this would have the same affect on Xbox Live, or if a server somewhere could tell that you had an Xbox that wasn't in its original casing, something along those lines.

I was hoping for a toaster that would burn red rings onto your toast.....but this is cool too.
