Woman Seduces Teen She Met on Xbox Live, Gets Busted

It's the oldest story in the book: boy meets girl online. Girl seduces boy. Girl turns out to be much older woman. Woman gets arrested.

Remember how, back in August, there was that guy from Florida who sexually molested a kid in California? Well, there's already a 2011 version of that story: a 36-year-old woman from Lake Forest, California, was arrested for seducing a 13-year-old she met over Xbox Live.

Rachel Ann Hicks is currently being held without bail on charges of rape and child molestation. It turns out that Miss Hicks, a 36-year-old mother of three, met a 13-year-old boy from Maryland on Xbox Live in September. She then pretended to be 23-years-old, seduced the kid with "romantic" text messages, X-Rated pictures and online movies she made of herself. Within a few short months, over the Thanksgiving holiday, Hicks drove up to Maryland from Florida (where she was visiting family) and had sex with the young man in his home while his parents were sleeping.

The boy's parents became suspicious when family members saw the romantic text messages his phone was holding. After the local authorities were alerted, the FBI became involved so they could track down Hicks' real identity, since she used a fake name and age on Live.

According to the Orange County Sheriff's Department spokesperson, Jim Amormino, Hicks admitted to police that she had inappropriate relations with "another young male victim" in California.

Whenever I read or write about these sort of events, I always feel a little sick to my stomach. That said, I feel worse about this story because Hicks has molested at least two victims, and one of them was only barely a teenager. At least the woman is being held without bail, which implies that authorities are taking the threat she represents seriously.

Pretty sure we alread had a thread about this, but might be mistaken.

Also: still wrong, still not funny, still not "awesome for the dude".

And her being 23 would have been ok?

Just goes to show you that there is no gender difference between the sick fucks out there.

This.

The double standards people have for this stuff is ridiculous. If it was a man and a 13 year old girl, people would be calling him a sick pedophile, but for a woman and a boy, there going to act like it's no big deal.

That's pretty gross. WTF is wrong with people?!

Feels weird to see a woman on this end but glad to see she got caught. That's a bit fucked up.

that's low man, sure child molesters are universally regarded as bad people, but there is no need to show a picture of her, especially when she has kids, you are not hurting her, shes going to jail, but her kids dont need schoolmates (the chance that some of the kids who go to their school visiting this site is pretty big) to know, and heck even if they dont plastering her face around is in poor taste, its not like she is on the run and you could hope that someone could contact the police with information about her.

In jail being held with the option of bail? I think they are taking it pretty seriously. I'm just thinking about how fucked this is going to be for her kids... Imagine that shit tomorrow morning on the playground.

Agreed. Unfortunately for her kids there are probably 15 people making facebook profiles.

ok...

"thats stupid" is the first thing i thought

and her having 3 other kids, begs the question, are the kids safe?????

also, damn woma, cant you find someone your age!?

That, and didn't it say she showed him pictures? Wouldn't that tip him off as to how old she is?

I'm talking about the posters on the Escapist with double standards.

Stupid bitch. "Oh noes, people find me unattractive und creepy, so I'm going to molest a 13 year old! =D Arn't I cool!11!1!1!!!1"

Makes me sick.

A 13-year-old boy? Seriously? And she's a mother of three?

...

I don't know what to say.

There's no way people at school wouldn't find out.

And putting photos is standard procedure, not "low".

She looks crazy or seriously disturbed, tbh if it wasn't xbox it could be facebook or anything, it's just horrible

I don't think anyone has said "Nice!" or posted the a south park youtube yet. There is no double standard, this shit is fucked up and we all think that.

no your right it was on the threads a few days ago

I'll bet that kid's really confused, and more than a little disillusioned now.
I blame the parents and Microsoft for providing him with XBox Live.

It was how they acted when a lady had sex with a teen she met over WoW.

mmhmm, I want this to shut up all the people that go "My daughter is gonna get molested! My daughter is gonna get molested!" but ignore the possibility of it happening to their son.

These cases disgust me

As horrible as this is I can't help but be reminded of this South Park Episode

This reminds me of a south park episode... But the police in the episode don't really help and people's reaction is not really what you would expect... everyone just says

EDIT: Damn those Ninjas...

What a disgusting bitch, I hope she gets what she deserves.

I can't remember WHERE it is exactly, but I seemto remember there was a town or a state or something that had a law: If you're a convicted child molester, you must walk up to the door of EVERY neighbor in a certain radius, knock on itm, and tell them you're a convicted child molestor.

Picture seems rather common practice actually.

There is quite a disparity of numbers.

its a sad world we live in when things like this happen.

Personally, i think if the kid agreed to it, why not?

But if she raped him, she´s a seriously sick girl. Like, Hitler sick.
But again, if the kid agreed...

EDIT: Looking at her picture, she looks like a fucking drug addict. Not cool. Previous opinion canceled.

and you don't see the problem in that?, where do you draw the line?, sure i live in Denmark where its standard procedure not to mention names or show pictures, even if the suspect is on the run the police only gives out vague information like height and hair colour, imagine that instead of showing pictures of her and her name, they didn't, she would still be punished for her crimes, but how would the classmates find out?.

Is the 15+ years shes going to spend in jail not a fitting punishment, does her family need to suffer for her crimes too? and what about after she has paid for her crimes, her life will still be ruined long after she has paid her debt to society, note im not saying that we need to go easy on such crimes.

Absolutely horrifying. He's a child...and probably quite close to one of her own children in age. He's bound to be confused by everything. Hopefully his parents will get him the support he needs.

It's statutory rape. He's not mature enough to make that decision and understand the ramifications. Doesn't matter if he thought it was a great idea or not - it's too easy for an adult to manipulate a child.

The same way girls can hold hands with each other and not be considered gay or guys can have all the sex they want and be cool or the reason I'm supposed to pay for dates and give her my jacket when its cold. Double standards are everywhere. Lets take it up with society

Why would you blame a company? The parent choose to buy it for him and not to monitor what he's watching/playing or who he is interacting with online. That's not Microsoft's job or fault. The kid gave out his personal information to the woman.

Yes, I think it's a really bad thing she did but you cannot blame a company for providing a service. They are not the ones that were exploiting it. Video games already get a bad enough wrap. The woman gets what she deserves.

If the woman had been a 27 year old Swedish blond then nobody would have called this a crime......

Ugly woman seduces a young boy: A sick crime that leads to jail time.

A hot woman seduces a young boy: A young boy gets laid, end of story.

That's just despicable...

I agree with OP, that makes me sick to my stomach as well.

Yeah, but being evil is fun.

Yeah, because it's always the corporation's fault. I hate big businesses but I'm on Microsoft's side here. If anyone is at fault it's the parents. Those fuckwits didn't instill the idea of not giving out that kind of info online into their fuckwit kid's mind from an early age. I knew that shit before I was 8.

You know, this is the problem. We don't really know if the kid was ok with it or not. Perhaps he saw it as a sexual conquest. Who knows?

I see where you´re coming from.

But let´s look at this whole "Manipulating" business.

Marketers manipulate people to feel and think things all the time. But that´s not "statutory mind rape" because of it. They manipulate people into wasting their money, but they´re not charged because of it. Hell, someone has probably been mentally and physically injured because of wasting their money because of marketers. But it´s not their fault that the person made the wrong descision.

But on second thought, the woman in this picture doesn´t really look like a nice, healthy person, so in this case, she should be charged. But in another case, like if a 25 year old had sex with a 14 year old, the 14 year old made the wrong descision if (s)he regrets it - you can´t blame the 25 year old.
