Bully of "Zangief Kid" Claims He Was the Target

In an interview on Australian TV, the skinny bully claims that the "Zangief Kid" called him names first.

As always, things are not what they seem. Last week, we reported on a video of an altercation between two school kids in Sydney, Australia. In the forty seconds of video, a smaller child repeatedly punches an obese kid before the larger one flips out and body-slams the bully. The video went viral, and everyone from the hacker conglomerate Anonymous to tabloid TV show A Current Affair showed their support for Casey Haynes fighting back against bullying. The supposed aggressor Ritchard Gale was vilified for his actions, but in a recent interview on Australian program Today Tonight, the skinny little kid says that Haynes abused him first. Gale claims that he slapped and punched Heynes to stick up to his bullying, but that's not shown on the short video. Gale's family is distraught, as is Gale, for the amount of negative attention this incident as earned him.

"I was pretty angry," Gale says. "I wanted to smash him." But not because he was a bully but because in his view he was the victim. "He abused me first," says Gale. "He told me to get to class you idiot and all that kind of stuff."

The world thinks that Haynes was a victim, but apparently that's all bollocks. "That's just what he's saying, to make everyone stick up for him," Gale said. "He mouthed off at me first, and then pushed me and ran."

There follows an interview with his parents and how they are sorry that it happened, but Gale himself doesn't seem very apologetic. When the interviewer asks him point blank, "Are you sorry?" Gale responds, "No. He started at me first."

It's tough to tell what to believe here. There's a lot of gray area when it comes to kids and the stories they tell. The only truth is that no one may really know what happened in that hallway or what led up to that incident, except for Gale and Haynes.

Why the hell has a kid his age got a piercing? Bad parenting for you, right there.

"He told me to get to class, so I punched him in the face." Perfect logic.

Eh...I´m not buying this kid´s story. His lack of remorse is obvious.

Post edited because the accuracy of the photo is not confirmed.

Of course he's the victim.

Everyone records themselves punching someone in the face.

What a childish little shit that kid is.

He literally has the attention of the entire Austrailian continent and the internet bearing down on him and all he can think to say is the 'he started it first' excuse. Why would one guy bully someone who obviously had friends?

I foresee many, many more pizzas arriving at his house.

Richard Gale's lying through his teeth. It seems pretty clear who's the victim and who's the bully from watching the video that went viral.

Even if this is true, the "bullying" Casey committed was telling the smaller kid to get to class and supposedly randomly pushing him once and then running off? Wow, I wish bullies were like that in my high school.

This kid is full of it.

Sounds like mom and dad are behind the scenes pulling the strings to me.....

Casey = Awesomesauce

That Bodyslam = FUCKING EPIC

When was this?

He looks like a smug twat. He showed he he is by those messages on Facebook to that girl.

The kid has eyebrow piercing, (call me bigotted but) you can't trust anyone with an eyebrow piercing (unless it's complemented by several other piercings and a Punk or Metal T-shirt).

I dun buy it. We have him punching the other kid in the face and his mate videoing it. That doesn't exactly sound like a spur of the moment start up to me...

#Edit, why are all their teeth so yellow?

BAAAAAWWWWW...

Exactly.

Not buying it kid.

Huh? He did? Where did you get that little gold nugget from?

If he was the bullied hardly he would have the guts and self estime to tell a friend to record a video. It's more likely he was the bully and wanted to showe a proff of his "machomness". (Does this word exists?)

So someone calls you an idiot and you want to start punching him in the face?

If this is true, the kid has anger issues.

Ok, I would at least consider that Richard could have been telling the truth if in the original video he and his friends weren't laughing like little shits. And it was his friend that was shooting the video, so I don't think we're missing anything.

No, this is complete bull.

Have a good day.

It came shortly after the video went viral. A girl negatively commented on his actions, he responded that she should be beaten and raped.

EDIT: Found it.

Three observations:

1. He has a pierced eyebrow.
2. Unprovoked fisticuffs.
3. If you aren't completely removed from empathy, psychology, and your childhood, you will be able to identify the bully and the bullied by watching five seconds of the clip.

Savvy?

After watching the video with the Street Fighter music in the background I really can't take any of this seriously anymore XP

Bullshit
He looked away at his dad after saying no and changed it to yes
If it was a spur of the moment thing, why did he have three friends and someone recroding, all the while laughing throughout it, acting like Rocky Balboa

Complete and utter bullshit, this kid lied throughout the whole thing and whats worse you can tell hes not even sorry about what he did

I'm just going to say this:

The original video was pretty cool. But I have officially stopped giving a shit about this. Why does everyone seem to care so much about this ONE incident?

At this point, I don't care who started it, who the victim is, or anything like that. Maybe I'm just trolling, but is this REALLY so interesting that we need updates about it?

I don't believe him.

However, he already got what he deserved; getting thrown down to the ground like that. He doesn't need the constant hate that is flooding his life from everywhere over the world.

That being said (which shows how torn I am on this subject), taking a video of your harassing a schoolmate and then the subsequent ass-beating you receive because you're too stupid to understand that someone three times the size of you definitely can lift you without a problem (not to mention that the kid was four years older than him), and posting it to youtube really allows me no remorse as you really brought it on yourself.

The internet is not for the faint of heart and you will get attacked by people on it no matter what you do or say. Posting anything here and not understanding the consequences makes you terribly deserving of any flak that comes your way.

There's a TF2 one kicking about somewhere, it's pure gold.

This reminds me of this:

Yeah, big deal. I don't give two shits about his story. "He told me to get to class and called me an idiot." OH MY GOD! That's horrifying, and surely deserved to have a video of him getting punched and taunted repeatedly made of him.

Yea, seriously. Calling you an idiot is going to make you attack a kid three times as big as you? Bullshit. That's by far the mildest insult I heard while in middle school. The little one was clearly the aggressor here, and I'm almost guaranteeing that he was the one who told a friend to record this.

I mean really, mullet and an eyebrow piercing? Noooo...He doesn't think of himself as tough.

It was in post number 5 from this thread:http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.272253-Richard-Gale-zangrief-kids-bully-speaks-out-on-TodayTonight?page=1#comment_form. He even linked a screenshot of the conversation.

edit: of course, we cant be sure if the pic is real or not. It might be photoshopped or a fake account. We shouldnt jump to conclusions.

I lol'd at the really terrible teary phone conversation at the start.
That kid must hate his life so much.

I'm with you, it was funny, it's good enough for a meme but it's a single fight. The kid was suspended and got an injury. IMO the internet doesn't need to add anything to the mix, and this should've stopped being newsworthy by now.

Also the school suspended Zangeif (I forgot his real name) for 4 days so that the bully's friends wouldn't try to get revenge. Zangeif's father even thought it was a good idea.

Pfft, kid got his ass beat for being a tosser and now that his shame is all over the internet he wants to cry foul.

Have fun trying to live your ass beating down kid, it's on the internet so your fate's fairly sealed at this point.

Hahahahaha, wow I have never seen this before. What the hell is up with the news anchor? I guess they have a different interview style... over there... >.>

I saw a picture of him on facebook saying that he hopes a girl gets beaten and raped because she suggested showing the video to the head of their school to prove Casey did what he did in self defence and as other people have said that responding to "get to class" with a punch to the face and claiming that the comment which he retaliated to is just stupid.

Oh and I don't have the photo if anyone is wondering but perhaps someone could post it here.

EDIT: ninja'd about the facebook thing.

do we know where the original video came from? it appears to me to be a video camera of some sort, not cc tv.

If someone is bullying you and you 'fight back', why would you:

1) start a fight with them (if they were minding their own business)
2) film it happening
3) act like you are some tough guy during said film

He's just playing in to the fact that he was bullying someone bigger than him because it is easy to take the side of the small guy. The fact he made the idiotic mistake of filming his own crappy fighting skills then tried to worm his way out of it when people put the pressure on him makes him all the more pathetic. And surely it is against the law for a piercer to give a kid his age an eyebrow piercing? It's almost like he got a piercing to show how much of a 'big man' he is to all his little buddies...

I can't even tell that's him in the picture, and as others have said this could've been shopped or a fake facebook account. Who knows.

EDIT: But thanks for the picture.
