Wonder Woman Joins GI Joe Movie Sequel

Wonder Woman Joins GI Joe Movie Sequel

A failed TV pilot doesn't sting quite so much if it leaves you free to take on movie roles.

Adrianne Palacki, who was starred in the recent ill-fated Wonder Woman pilot is the latest addition to the cast of the sequel to GI Joe: Rise of the Cobra, as military intelligence specialist Lady Jaye. Palacki will join returning cast members Channing Tatum and Ray Park, as well as Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, French actress Elodie Yung, and hip-hop artist RZA.

Lady Jaye is supposedly a talented spy, highly skilled in the art of disguise. She is able to mimic even the smallest details about a person, even down to subtle inflections in their voice and the look in their eye, although exactly how much screen time her particular talents will get in a two-hour action movie is anyone's guess. Fortunately, she's also a dab hand with a crossbow, so she will still have something to do if - although I'm guessing "when" is closer to the mark - her cover gets blown.

There is also some discussion about who will play the team's namesake in the movie: Joseph Colton, the original GI Joe. A number of actors are apparently in the running, with Bruce Willis' name being one of the most prominent.
Paramount is reportedly eager to start production in order however, so availability might be just as important as talent.

GI Joe 2 is being directed by John Chu, who also directed the Justin Bieber movie, and is scheduled for release in the summer of next year.

I'm hoping that was your regular ending joke, Wolverine. I'm surprised they actually needed someone to direct that "movie".

Two things: I'm not Funk, and that's not a joke.

well the i ate spaghetti on my first date scene was really problematic to direct.
especially how the 3d animated spaghetti should fly to the audience with the 3d glasses on.

oh god. are we really out of ideas dear hollywood?

well wonder woman itself doesnt have much substance to hold itself like the hulk.
To me it was just a really nice looking woman in a sexy outfit and the hulk comics about smashing stuff.

Well... you are now!

Shush, it's been a long day.

In all seriousness though, wasn't the entire movie just about Bieber singing live concerts?

Getting started on the name calling kind of early there, aren't you?

The first movie was pretty awful.... one of the things that really annoyed me was the needless use of CGI. They made that scene where Scarlet (not sure if that was the character) was in France on the motorcycle, when she spun around to start the chase, it was CGI.... that is just stupid.

The original director was kinda junky, with no real respectable movies under his belt (The Mummy movies, Van Helsing, etc.).

And Jon M. Chu... well, I mean, is there going to be a lot of dancing in the new GI Joe movie?!? His 6 previous directing credits include the two Step Up sequels, the League of Extraordinary Dancers, Silent Beats.... tell me why anyone thought this would be a good director for a GI Joe movie.....

Its Beiber. His music is corporately driven and relentlessly focus tested, and manages to be an insult to the entire artform that is music. What, you expected us to be nice?

Ah, I see. I thought that was aimed at me. Whoops. Carry on then.

There was a Justing Bieber movie? That is quite messed up. Next they are going to make Madonna movies, or whatever other Pop singer will be on top by that time...

Coming to Cinema's near you! "FRIDAY- The Rebbeca Black Story".

Oh for a second, I thought it was directed by John Woo

I'm notsure if this is better or worse for her carreer..

John Chu's first day;
"Why am I here if there are no song & dance numbers in this movie?"

It's a shame Wonder Woman didn't work out, was looking forward to it. Not that many decent superhero-esque tv shows that are worth watching on these days.

I just hope with the sequel, that the special effects are not so 1990s in their appearance.

Wait they are having Lady Jaye use a crossbow and be a master of disguise? Those are Scarlet's and Covergirl's Calling cards if I'm not mistaken?(and both of them being in the previous movie I think as well.)

Well anyways I hope they fix their mask issues and get rid of the various designs of all black & white uniforms for the Joes a little color can't hurt after the first.

Ever so often Lady Jaye would do the "undercover disguise" bit so there is precedent. Besides Cover Girl was killed in the first movie.

I guess they thought the "Trick Javelins" were just a little too silly. As for the actual casting... not sure. It sounds like she's a replacement for Cover Girl, which means she's basically just Eye Candy in the movie. Which is a shame because I liked Lady Jaye.

Just reading the actors they have lined up, it already sounds like it's on the right track for this type of movie. Bruce Willis would be perfect. I should probably see the first one before this comes out. Always wanted to.
