Return to Morrowind With New Skyrim: Dragonborn Screenshots The next Skyrim expansion pits you against the first Dragonborn. The next expansion for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is less than three weeks away for Xbox 360 owners, and a dozen new screenshots have emerged, revealing a bit more about Dragonborn. Set on Solstheim, an island off the coast of Morrowind, the images show off some of the new locales, characters, and foes, as well as, shockingly enough, dragons. In addition to having new areas to explore and more shouts to master, Dragonborn pits you against the very first of your kind: the original Dragonborn. When you're not busy saving Solstheim from a terrible fate, you can also tame dragons and complete a number of new quests. Dragonborn is due out on December 4 for the Xbox 360 (sorry, PC and PS3 gamers).
screenshot #2 - so the first dragonborn was Cthulhu? That's freaky as hell looking.
Well looks like The more I hear about this expansion the more I want it out, hopefully Bethesda gives a PC release date soon.
The title is a bit misleading, isn't it?, it's not exactly Morrowind, but near Morrowind. Other than that, the DLC sounds like lots of fun, I'll definitely be checking it out. EDIT: What I meant is that it's not exactly in the mainland of Morrowind, but at least it's the closest thing we'll ever get from Bethesda by making something that remotely resembles Morrowind with Skyrim's engine.
This just re-enforces the fact that Bethesda needs to re-make Morrowind in Skyrim's engine.
I'm going back to Morrowind?
And here I thought I was done with Skyrim and that I was set to completely ignore the DLC that came with it, but then I get told I'm going home and that's just too much to ignore.
I've been looking at the screens over and over for like 45 minutes now. So stoked.
Do you mean bonemold? I don't think there have been any screenshots containing chitin armor yet, though it is known to be in the DLC.
I was surprised to see those big crab shells normally found in Redoran owned areas in Solstheim. Thought those only existed on the main island, especially as it seems it'd be a pain to move.
Well, correct me if I'm wrong, but is Solstheim not within the Vvardenfell district, therefore in Morrowind?
I guess after Vaardenfell got blown the eff up they decided to relocate. It has been 200 years since oblivion afterall. Plenty of time to move some crab shells me thinks. OT: YES, YES, YES! Oh wait why am I getting excited? I made the mistake of getting the ps3 version :( But if Bethesda fix the problems they have with the ps3 then OMG WANTWANTWANT!
Er yes my bad, don't know why I always get those confused, although I just went an checked what Chitin armour actually looks like and it's even goofier the bonemold.
Yet for some reason I am super excited to see what it looks like in Skyrim XD
The only thing I want to know is if they added Spears for players. Right now all we know is that the Rieklings get spears.
I'd read some of that, Ald Rhun in ruins (a city I loved) but wow, moving from the desert to the coldest place possible. Also I'm just laughing thinking of them floating the crab shell. I figure the shell had to come from Gnisis and that they're irreplaceable as I haven't seen another gigantic crab outside of mods.
Cross your fingers mate, they said it's "getting closer", whatever that means. OT: The PS3 issue could turn out to be a blessing. I've moved on and played many new games since finishing up on Skyrim many a months ago and have been thinking about starting a new character. With 2 beefy DLCs, I should have another hundred hours to sink into this game when they are finally brought over. Conditions being that they fix the lag issues once and for all. Otherwise I'm stalling for the Ultimate Edition on PC (if I finally get my rig up to snuff).
So I made this, because a Skyrim Confessions blog was still locked out for a few more days.
Well, if Fallout 3's passage of time is anything to go by, then 200 years will probably look the same as 2 weeks.
Well seems PC and PS3 users get screwed yet again. I knew I was wise to purchase Skyrim for the Xbox but I mean come on Bethesda don't pull another Dawnguard/Hearthfire on them. Anyway I'm interested in this DLC as it finally seems like they are going to be giving us that huge expansion DLC like they promised us. ^.^
Now that's the kind of DLC that interests me. Finally.
Well well well. Looks like we're gonna get some More-owwind I'm bad at puns
My question is: How will this affect the Skywind Mod? Question 2: Has Dawnguard come out for PS3 yet? I mean it is really sad to have DLC 1 2 and soon 3 on Xbox and soon PC when PS3 still doesn't have 1. Still glad I opted for a PC copy though.
What's really farking annoying is that the exclusivity deal was supposed to have expired with Hearthfire, but apparently Bethesda decided to make it a timed 360 exclusive anyway because....they don't like us? Fucked if I know.
...Did I see a dude riding a dragon? There was a dude riding a motherfucking dragon.
Morrowind is a province of which only a little bit, the volcano island of Vvardenfell, was featured in TES III. "Mainland Morrowind" is completely absent from TES III except for the expansion taking us to Mournhold. Solstheim is very much part of Morrowind.
Is that a different set of Dwemer gear? Or is that something else?
Solstheim? It's a terrible place I've heard. As long as the island is crawling with werewolves (riding dragons?) then it will be awesome. No when can I get a DLC (or mod) to go visit the remains of Vivec?
It looks like people at Bethesda noticed that people really want Morrowind re-imagined with all the pretty. I personally think Morrowind's age at this point gives it a certain charm that would be lost in some kind of Skyrim conversion, though. I really wish I could get all fanatical about TES like many people here, but I seem to just casually enjoy them. I might jump into a giant chunk of lore if I can find it to have more perspective about the worlds you play in. Oh, and I'm glad that we're finally getting a "proper" expansion style DLC for Skyrim, it should be awesome.
Well thankfully I don't believe there was much in the way of cliff racers there because as we all know Fuck cliff racers
Soooo.....will there be cliff racers??
I was bored with Skyrim but when this eventually comes out on PC I know I'll be getting it and playing again.
That actually bears resemblance to an ascended sleeper, one of the more advanced minions of the late Dagoth Ur. That along with the last picture looking like an ash zombie makes me wonder how a psychotic mutant cult survived after 200 years of their master being dead.
Raven rock had better be there, and it had better reference how the awesome Nerevarine came and aided in it's creation. and hey, I could hide hopesfire. That should help the future dragonborn. That weapon be OP as shit. Man non of that would ever happen, but how cool would it be if you could load your morrowind file and your actions and items would transfer to skyrim
Well, a lot of dunmer did move from Morrowind to one of the coldest (probably) places in Skyrim. Solstheim has more green than Windhelm so it won't e too bad. And deserts get frikken cold man! I think the giant crabs that those houses are made from went extinct :(
"Closer" eh? At this point I'll take what I can get....
That dunmer though, with his red eyes and pointy face. Just make it more low-poly and lower res textures and you got morrowind-style dunmer again. Also, anyone know what that "volcano" is in the background of the picture of that netch? Never got around to exploring much of Solstheim, so I don't know if it's part of solstheim, or Vvardenfell in the distance.
well, st jiub did kill them all, according to the legends but as we all know that kind of thing is never permanent in tamriel
