Age of Ultron vs. Marvel Zombies #1

Marvel's string of announcements continues with another issue #1 hitting next summer.

Continuing its trend of extremely vague teasers, Marvel has announced another new series for summer 2015: Age of Ultron vs. Marvel Zombies. Just like yesterday's Civil War announcement, we've got nothing but a release window and an image to go on. This comes right on the heels of Marvel's announcement that Robert Downey Jr. has signed on for Captain America 3, which may tie in to the Civil War storyline--though we still don't know if it's a reboot of the 2006-2007 Civil War or something else altogether.

The comics and entertainment juggernaut has had no shortage of big news recently; Marvel announced a Gamora solo book at New York Comic Con last weekend, a new Secret Wars just last week, and Unbeatable Squirrel Girl earlier this month.

If Age of Ultron sounds familiar, it's because it was the title of a 2013 comics storyline; oh, and it's also the title of the sequel to 2012's The Avengers film. Marvel Zombies was a limited run back in late 2005 to early 2006 featuring, naturally, zombie versions of Marvel's notable superheroes written by The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman. Like Age of Ultron vs. Marvel Zombies and Civil War, Avengers: Age of Ultron premieres in mid-2015, strongly suggesting these new comic storylines will tie into the films. So what, exactly, is Marvel planning by mashing up these two entities? We'll find out next summer.

What happened to characters like Vision in the zombie universe? I am pretty sure Ultron is not the only robotic character who is immune to the virus, in fact, I am pretty sure that Peter Parker was also immune to a certain degree.

Go home Marvel. You're drunk.

At this point they could announce that Marvel and DC are doing a crossover where the Avengers challenge the Justice League to a 70's disco dance-off for the right to be first in line to ride on rainbow superpowered robo-zombie dinosaurs and I wouldn't even blink.

I just read him as squeamish. Because when his leg came off, he whined about it rather than eating it.

Anyway, I lost interest in Marvel Zombies once they entered the "mainstream" Marvel universe and were summarily neutered. I'd really only be interested in the Age of Ultron continuation if Kirkman came back and wrote it.

How was Marvel Zombies in general received?
Is it worth reading now or very cliched and boring?

Can anyone give me the low down at what happened at the Age of Ultrom story arc?

OT- Well I suppose this will be a one sided fight well if the Zombie ain't trying to eat/ infect him somehow. In saying so I remember in this comic Zombie vs Robot I think it was called, in that universe it was stated that if a zombie blood stain onto a robot curcuit board, it will infect them despite they have no organic parts within them.

That may be. I did not personally read it and was hoping for some clarification from those who did. :)

The reason I thought he was immune was because I remember reading a synopsis of him rescuing Ash Williams in the Evil Dead continuity. I guess it is limited to that continuity or simply did not change him as much.

I've only read the first one and it's pretty good with a nice helping of dark humor. From what I've heard of the other Marvel Zombies stuff is pretty mixed so your mileage may vary.
