Xbox One May See Some Schedule Changes For Its Fall 2015 Lineup

Head of Xbox Development says Fall 2015 release schedule "too crowded."

During an interview with Larry Hyrb on his popular podcast Major Nelson Radio, Phil Spencer stated that due to the plethora of major AAA games releasing in Fall 2015, some release dates may have to be switched around. September, October, and November are some of the biggest months for game releases each year, and scheduling can be hectic as publishers put out their best to try and compete for consumers' pre-holiday dollars.

Xbox One exclusives that are believed to be trying to hit a tentative "Fall 2015" window are Halo 5: Guardians, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Quantum Break, the new Crackdown, and Scalebound. Spencer stated that he believed it may be healthier for publishers to start vying for success at multiple points of the year instead of bunching their best games in the same four to five week time frame.

The question is: does this mean that these games are being delayed or perhaps coming earlier?

I am perfectly happy with any pushes any of the games into 2016 if the end result is an even better game.

I would be happy for them to come earlier, more games in the middle of the year is a good thing, especially after this extremely barren year for big releases.

Barren for big releases, overcrowded with indie games, how about that?

For once, I'm in agreement. So many games and movies are killed early because they decided to compete in the busiest market of the year. Winnie The Pooh got thrown up against Harry Potter and didn't stand a chance. For a gaming example, Space Marine was pushed out the door the week before Gears of War 3 was released.

It was a much better game too, I still blast through it every now and then. I played Gears 3 once.

I'm not even considering buying an XB One until there is a good Halo or good Crackdown game. I don't care when they finally come out...but if neither one is good enough for Yahtzee, there are still a lot of games coming out for the 360.

They'd better hurry up with some compelling content. In another year, I'll be able to buy a Steambox for the same price as the XBox One, and the games will look better on the SteamBox (not to mention the better video and audio apps). I'll probably even be able to plug a Kinect into the Steambox.

Unfortunately it was also irrelevant, too many people were looking forward to Gears 3 to care about Space Marine being good or bad.
It's like EA's 'must release before Call of Duty' obsession. I wonder how much damage sticking to that time frame did to Medal of Honor in particular, but also to Battlefield 4, besides a lot.

This is why I dislike all the discounts and such that knock huge amounts of a games value so soon after release. I find it devalues the "games are art" argument, and it makes these windows so important and they have to be careful and not compete with X game.

If their games retained their value like say Nintendo's main titles than release date would hardly matter as even if half the folk hold off and buy it in 4 months time or whatever you'll still be getting the full amount.
Microsoft do have titles strong enough to do that no problem so they should really copy Nintendo who everyone says is behind the times... yet is very much ahead in certain aspects.

And yes I'll admit I'm a well off enough fellow that acquiring titles on any platform I desire is no bother, and yes not many have that same luxury but... that doesn't matter.

"Steamboxes" being talked about as credible is so last year friend (and even than that was just among those who believed the hype for... well they really wanted it to be true I guess). Just get a PC if you're going down that train of thought, don't push those "Steamboxes" mate as it just ain't happening.

Secondly why would you base it off what Yahtzee says? You are aware its more comedy than anything right? Him hating something tends to usually be from what I've seen to be one of those kayfabe things, aka not real. Not that kayfabe reviews are a bad thing mind as they have their place.
