Book of Demons Lands on Early Access with New Trailer
Book of Demons is a deck-building, hack-and-slash action RPG, and it's out on Early Access today.
If you've always wanted a game to mash Diablo-style action RPG gameplay with deckbuilding, then you should give Book of Demons a look. It's a game that sends you into dungeons that you set the length of, allowing you to tailor the experience to the time you have available. Each dungeon is procedurally generated and randomly populated, so you won't find yourself grinding the same dungeons over and over.
Instead of gathering items to raise your stats, you'll instead build decks of cards that improve your character in a number of ways. You can also choose one of three classes (Warrior, Mage, or Rogue) to take on the dungeons. The world is rendered in papercraft style, and looks a lot like a pop-up book.
If you want to learn a little more about the game, you can check out Editor in Chief Josh Vanderwall's take on it, or watch the video above.
Sounds like fun! I love deckbuilder board games. Now if only they could do something similar ala Android: Netrunner like with both flesh and jack in sections and I'd be in love. Course I can just go to my local and play ANR...
Looks cool, got excited and then saw it was early access. So I won't be insetting it anytime soon. Just a policy of mine, I have too much of a backlog already without adding unfinished games. Will add to my wishlist though.
