Square has released a patch for the PC version of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided to address some issues players are experiencing.

If you've been playing Deus Ex: Mankind Divided on PC, you may be experiencing a few issues. Reports include things like low framerates, random crashes, and always-on mouse acceleration.

Square addressed some of the issues in a Steam Community developer post, which included advice you'd expect, such as "Update your drivers," and "Turn off MSAA." Now, the company has released a patch to address a number of issues with the PC version.

The patch includes a number of fixes for crashes, and fixes the missing mouse invert setting as well. Here's the list of changes:

  • Fixed crashes caused by third-party programs interfering with the game.
  • Fixed crash that occurred after viewing the intro videos.
  • Fixed issue that could cause a crash at the end of the Prague intro scene.
  • Fixed mouse invert setting not being displayed correctly in the options menu.

Also included in the patch notes is a word about performance on PC. If you're having issues playing on Very High or Ultra with MSAA set to 2x, 4x, or 8x, Square says that it "would like to emphasize again that these options are very demanding. We recommend everyone that is running at recommended spec or higher to start with the High Preset and MSAA turned off, and then tweak the options to optimize your experience."

If the patch causes any issues, Square says that you can roll back to v1.0_build 524.6,p which is set up as a beta on Steam. You can read the full patch notes here.

looks like it was good that i kept away from it. better wait for a GOTY edition were things should be all fixed and has all the content.

Playing it for 4 hours I haven't had any issues. But the thing managed to cripple my 980ti. Could stand for a little bit better optimization.

I would go so far as to say this is quite a bit more stable than most new releases. I experienced one crash in about four hours. ...It was time to go to sleep anyway.

I couldn't get past the prologue mission without a crash at the end of a long unskippable cutscene. So, I got a Steam refund.

I love the Deus Ex series. Maybe I'll buy it again on discount after it's been fixed.

no game is of course bug free. but i know that SE always released these titles with the whole lot. look at the last deus ex. they have released a directors cut that included even the DLC and had some change in maps. i know it was only a minor one but you get the idea.

Now hurry up and fix the space bar in the PC version. Specifically, where if you reload a save while in cover, it counts as an action in game, so every load begins with Adam vaulting over cover, often straight into the enemies line of site.
