Microsoft Will Reveal Project Scorpio at E3 2017
Project Scorpio's full reveal is just two months away.
Microsoft will finally unveil its upcoming Xbox console, known now as Project Scorpio, in two months. In a blog post today, Head of Xbox Phil Spencer confirmed the full reveal will take place at E3 2017.
"I'm proud of the progress made with Project Scorpio and what it will mean for the creators who fuel the passion of gamers around the world," Spencer wrote. "On behalf of everyone at Team Xbox, thank you for your continued passion and support. We're excited to unveil Project Scorpio and the amazing game experiences it powers at E3 this June."
The new console was first announced at E3 2016, and Project Scorpio's tech specs were detailed earlier this month.
"We've created the most powerful console with you in mind. We've created the most powerful development platform with our industry's creators in mind. And, we're unifying players across PC and console with Xbox Live, the fastest, most reliable multiplayer network and Beam, the next generation streaming service," Spencer wrote. "Ultimately, we know you care most about great games, whether they be exclusive, multiplatform, independent or AAA. We are proud of the diverse lineup of games coming this year that will only be playable on Xbox One and will play better on Project Scorpio. We designed Project Scorpio to be the best console to play the blockbuster multiplatform games from our publishing partners, made it easy for recently released titles to upgrade to true 4K and for beloved, backward compatible titles to play better than ever before."
Jesus, they are really determined to drag this shit out, aren't they? What number and type of reveal are we on now?
This song is perfect for this news.
E3 2017 arrives.
"So can you tell us at last why you called it project scorpio?"
"Ah yes! We're proud to announce the most secret and exciting feature of the new xbox console yet! We've grafted a prehensile like tail to the back of the console with a kinect camera surrounded by poison tipped pincers at the end!"
"We believe that with this new and improved camera watching our customers at all times will enable them to get the best experience out of their new console!"
"But why the pincers?"
"Well we discovered that if left to their own devices, consumers will find some way to block, cover or remove the unprotected camera from it's housing. As such we deemed it necessary to add a suitable deterrent. It also helps with issues regarding customers trying to resell their xbox, console modding and anything else we don't like."
Word on the street is that the parts inside a Scorpio can be priced around $5k.
It took a year before this was revealed. However, the good news is that we're just a couple of months away!
