You Can Expect More Details on Overwatch Highlight Saving "Early this Summer"

If there's one most-requested feature for Overwatch, it's probably highlight recording, and we should hear more about it soon.

Overwatch players have been asking Blizzard to let them save their awesome plays pretty much since Blizzard's shooter first launched. It's been mentioned a few times in the past, and now Blizzard is saying we should hear more about the features soon.

In a post on the game's official forums yesterday, game director Jeff Kaplan said that the ability to save and export highlights is "the current focus of the feature team (one of the smaller development strike teams on the Overwatch team). The team is working extremely hard on this and has been for months. Expect more details early this summer."

So if you're tired of pulling off an awesome play, only to have the play of the game go to Torbjorn again, you can look forward to saving all your awesome exploits soon.

That's nice and all, but I'd really like to know if Blizzard has something planned for Overwatch's first birthday. That game made tons of money, so I hope they have something better in store than a spray an a free loot box...

You don't want Torb's getting POTG, then git gud.

Looks like a full blown event is in the works, with new legendaries at least for all the heroes yet to get ones from updates/events, and of course, special lootboxes.

Not clear when exactly it's hitting... but if we're lucky there may be some overlap with the nexus 2.0 event, so that might give you a headstart (though in reality id be very surprised if they don't make sure the nexus 2.0 is over well before it hits, or else lock the 2.0 lootboxes to normal ones)

Well, first they need to fix the POTG system itself. Too often it's just a clip of someone getting two random kills, and is nothing particularly impressive at all.
