The Destiny 2 Open Beta Has Been Extended Until Tomorrow

Bungie is giving Destiny 2 fans a little longer to play the open beta.

The Destiny 2 Open Beta is underway now. Yes, it was supposed to end last night, but Bungie has extended the beta through Tuesday to all allow for "additional service testing." The announce came in post on Twitter yesterday.

The beta includes the game's opening story mission, "Homecoming," one Strike, "The Inverted Spire," and two PvP modes: Control (featured in the first Destiny) and Countdown, a brand new mode for the sequel. It also includes matchmaking, so you can play with other beta testers. There's no character progression, though, and nothing you do in the beta will carry over to the final game.

The new end time for the Destiny 2 beta is "expected" to be tomorrow, Tuesday, July 25, at 6 PM ET.

Still playing the beta? Have you found these five Destiny 2 beta secrets & Easter eggs yet?

the link to secrets is broken and wouldn't lead to an article anyway. did you just assume that you'd posted something like that without bothering to check? or does such a thing actually exist and you didn't bother to find the link before posting?

*shrugs* either way. beta's been pointless and boring. they shouldn't have set the standard with the first game's beta if they weren't going to follow in its footsteps.

Honestly, I wasn't impressed with the beta. On the bright side, I heard we were playing an old build so maybe the final product is better.

Kicked it. Apparently I left out one letter in the link and it just died. Should work now.

With release day just over a month from now I wouldn't expect that much to change.

'Old build,' doesn't really mean anything, DICE always claim it's an 'old build' when their betas go horribly wrong. Of course Bungie could prove me wrong, but that would surprise me no end.

From what I've heard, the build was from 3 months ago. It is supposedly already changed (why we would be playing such a old build rather than the current one, I haven't a clue). Frankly, I was annoyed at the insanely long cool downs on the abilities. I could easily go through several firefights and still have abilities on cool down. I also didn't care for the apparent way that armor worked. And several of the ways things worked in the classes could be different (no fan of the Hunter Class Ability).

That being said, the game felt good. I liked the story. Even the Strike had some unique things that I liked. There's good in there. They were just overshadowed by a lot of little annoying things and the small size of the beta.

Oh boy can't wait to try i-

Oh wait it's only for consoles, haha!
