European Court rules that Nintendo doesn't have to allow Eshop preorders to be cancelled.

I don't preorder stuff, but I still don't like this.

The decision like this creates a domino effect. The only time I pre-order is for physical copies. I have still yet to pre-order anyting digital-only.

Yeah, don't really see the point of digital pre-orders. I mean I guess it buys it for you if you forget but why would you preorder something that you might forget to buy on release day? I dunno. On paper this isn't good but in practice I don't think this will effect much.

And Nintendo continuing to prove they're just as bad as every other publisher in the market.

If you really do pay attention to all these under-the-radar things that Nintendo does, it can be argued that they are even less consumer friendly than Microsoft. They turned on-disc DLC into limited toys and people loved it somehow. Other companies do a 1/10th of what Nintendo does and get thrown on the bus while the same people happily get on Nintendo's bus.

A disappointing ruling and a black mark, one amongst many, against Nintendo.

just another reason why physical will always be >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Digital.

implying people buy amiibo purely for the in game content they provide (which is usually nothing more than a skin anyway).

This what what we lose going all digital. I hope your happy that we traded Gamesto/Stores in general for this.

Hyrule Warriors begs to differ. You needed a Link amiibo to unlock the Spinning Top weapon from Twilight Princess in the Wii U version. There was no other way to unlock it in game until the Switch version. Also, the "it's just cosmetics/skins" is another bullshit excuse. A real game would have stuff like this as an unlockable by playing the damn game. Nintendo can do wrong and has many times before. If it were any other company, you would not use that excuse.

Ah, the old "no backses" rule, eh? A bit shitty for sure. Never pre-ordered anything digital, so no idea if it's different to how others operate, but I know sony don't refund any variable digital purchase which is always spun as "it's yours...FOR LIFE!" Way more convenient a commitment for the publishers more than any customer, which is all surely happenstance of course, like every other quirk of those moulding capitalism coincidentally syphoning power and wealth away from the public and into the hands of the relentlessly hoarding privileged few. Oops politics in games happened again. Also, no need to defend massive corporations just cos they make stuff you like, they got lawyers for that and don't need or respect you as a human individual anyway. I'll throw any fucker under the bus if they're doing dirty, regardless of the quality of their products, it's actually quite liberating after the first 100 times.

ok.

still doesn't change the fact that most people just display Amiibo on their shelves. i can't even remember the last time i used one to use in literally any of my games.

also loving how you completely ignored the very part of my comment where i said amiibo content is USUALLY nothing more than a skin. not always. try harder next time.

The point that there are obviously exceptions which i already acknowledged?
Good job you!!!! *slow clap*

Once again your oblivious to the stupid decisions Nintendo has made. There are many other Wii U games with amiibo support that suffered the same problem. These are not exceptions; it was commonplace. You must like forgetting when Nintendo would dole amiibos out in short supply, and certain people would buy them up and sell them at twice or three times the price on Amazon or Ebay. I sure as hell would not pay the amount of a $60.00 game for a skin or weapon that is not unlockable by normal means.

list me all of these games then that force you to unlock all of this OH SO IMPORTANT content!

and yeah, super smash bros amiibos were bloody popular when first they came out. is training and fighting amiibo CPU fighters in smash important in order to enjoy the game? FUCK no. how often do you even hear people mention amiibos when they talk about why love the Smash Ultimate?

i'm the Nintendo fan that displays my amiibo on my shelf and doesn't give a fuck about the majority of the stuff they include in my Nintendo games.

you tell me why amiibo content is so important since you're one who's so outraged by them.

I more or less gave you my answer in an earlier post, and spelled it out on a chalkboard. I'm not outraged, I just point bullshit. There's not much point in this conversation when I spelled it out for you. If you proudly display your amiibos, more power to you. That does not upset me. Amiibos are just slightly less crappy versions of Disney Infinity and Skylanders. The fact they lasted longer says something, but I don't like them. I won't drag this off topic long, as this about Nintendo's no backsies. Though it is relatable to the amiibos, and the shortages of NES/SNES minis that were phased for their stupid Nintendo library on Switch with their crap online service. I'm done here, and I apologize to the topic creator for partially derailing the thread. Yoshi, don't bother with a witty retort or comeback, I won't care nor respond.
