2017's GOTY coming to PC!!!!!

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1151640/Horizon_Zero_Dawn_Complete_Edition/

Sony has pulled the cross over trigger. Horizon Zero Dawn is coming to PC! And I can't wait. I'm so hyped to see them dinosaurs in beautiful 4k 60fps, and mouse and keyboard control will surely be an absolute treat for a game in which precise aiming matters.

Eh this game lost me about 1 hour in, and just couldn't build any steam afterwards.

Any mention of the price? I never played the DLC, so if buying the game is cheap enough I could see myself doing it.

TBH I'd be more excited about plastic model (like gunpla quality) of the dinosaur mech. Visually the game was awesome, the atmosphere was great too. Story wise... well the background story/lore was great, much better than I though it'd be, but the actual story and character were just... serviceable at best. If I replay trough it I'll probably blast trough it just to get to the DLC section.

Pretty sure it'll be $60 at least; it's old but it's the "Complete" edition so kinda balances out.

Wondering how much better this game will manage to look on PC. It was already drop dead gorgeous on base PS4. They'll give it better draw distance, 60 frames min. and even higher texture, post process, etc. quality.

you can buy the complete edition on ps4 for $20 bucks. So I dont think the steam version will be more than 30.

Well, color me intrigued. This game has always interested me, but my last "serious" console was the Nintendo 64, so playing it was off the table until now.

Fucking sweet, I had to sell my PS4 so I never got to finish Horizon. Looks like now I'll get the chance with a control scheme I'm better with :D

Yeah, that's not how Capitalism works

Anyway, never been interested in owning a PS but interested in some of their games. A friend so me this game on her PS and it seemed fun. Also waiting for Bloodborne, please and thank you

On PC? I guess you could say that Guerilla turned their eyes to new horizons.

Enjoy it, it's a great game.

I own it for console, but never managed to get into it. I found the controls lacking on controller and couldn't find a way to rebind them. With some nice graphic boosts and whatnot, might be worth picking it up if the price is right!

Never held much interests, but glad the PC players get a good game.

Well damn, that's not bad. Gotta remind myself it's a three year old game already and not like Red Dead 2 getting a PC release. What was Detroit: Become Human prices at on PC? *checks*. $40 at Epic's store. Wouldn't be surprised if it'll be the same price.

But Zelda: BOTW was 2017's GOTY. Not Horizon.
And Zelda BOTW is definitely not coming to PC anytime soon

Pretty sure it won GotY at quite a few other places. Also, wondering what it would take for GG to port the Killzones to PC. 2 and 3 would be surreal with KB/M and updated visuals.

Who died and the made the shitty Game Awards to be the end all of decisions for GOTY. Easy, no one. Nothing against Breath of the Wild, but it sure as hell was not mine GOTY of 2017. If it yours, fine, but there are over millions of people that had their own GOTY. And gamers don't need an even worse version of the Oscar to dictate what's GOTY. FYI, Horizon was not my pick for GOTY either.

Apparently the Sony fanboys are taking it well. Many angry tweet, including one from a dude who apparently trashed his room over it, saying, and I quote:

Great way to spend my birthday. Thanks for f*cking nothing @PlayStation @Guerrilla @hermenhulst @yosp decades thrown away and now it was all for nothing

Man, what a ponce.

I'm sure PC gamers would rather have Bloodborne. xD

Not really.

Horizon has always been somewhat interesting to me. Not interesting enough to seriously consider buying a console but i might buy it for PC if the port is not atrocious.

Bloodborne seems to be just another dark and gritty action rpg. Is there anything special about it ?

Well yeah, it's only like, the best game ever made. ;)

I found Horizon just another typical first party crowd pleaser like Uncharted, Last of Us or Spiderman. Not much substance beyond the lavish production values just lots of scripted setpieces and gameplay I never really found engaging.

In an ideal world people like that would be sterile, but alas the rest of us could never be so lucky.

I really enjoyed HZD, although I had to split up my playtime - I felt all the tasks getting a bit repetitive about 3/4 of the way through. I finished it a few months later and I enjoyed the ending more for it as I wasn't burnt out at that point. I even did the DLC.

If you've already played this on PS4, I don't understand why you would be excited about it being on PC.

Are these games markedly different gameplay-wise other the brand awareness with Zelda (other than the fact link can climb up everything)? I haven't played BOTW, only watched someone else on a Switch, but, just superficially without playing it, it seems HZD is more interesting because it has a fully fleshed out and compelling story. I was happy to complete HZD based on the mystery of solving what the world was alone. It doesn't seem like I'd get that with BOTW.

PC has emulation, dawg. http://wiki.cemu.info/wiki/The_Legend_of_Zelda:_Breath_of_the_Wild

Whoa whoa whoa...Let's play nice guys! Both of these games are amazing in their own right. Hunting machines in Horizon is some of the best open world gameplay we have been graced with to date. Here's a no clip doc about the making of, spoiler free. The most impressive thing to me about it though was the work that went into creating those machines, which blow away anything else out there from a technical perspective in terms of enemy design.

As for Bloodborne, well that game speaks for itself as my avatar will ascertain. It helps to like the Souls style of gameplay but its design is different enough to stand on its own as well. IGN did a making of before release.

One of my favorite things about the game though would have to be its soundtrack.

It's the one Soulsbourne games that is very well regarded and is PS4 only right now.

I mean, there's also Demons Souls but a lot fewer people have played that one, both due to being a PS3 exclusive(and the PS3 has been dead for a while now) and it didn't take off quite like Dark Souls and sequels did. It's hard to tell if having a PC port would have changed that but now I suspect it would be viewed as "Like Dark Souls but even harder to get into". It also doesn't have depth of Lore the other Souls games have, though people have valiantly tried to link it to the rest of the series(Bloodborne came the closest, at one point having actual references to it).

PC already emulates everything.

its not legally being released on PC.

Sony fanboys once said much the same about Horizon.

BotW was more focused on melee combat to HZD being more or less pure range.

My overall assessement of BotW was that they obviously wanted to shake up the formula... but I'm not sure they had any concrete idea how to do so. You've the insane collectathons that would make Ubisoft blush, the most engaging part is combat but thats busted up by the weird durability stuff. Then a nutty crafting system from a survival game tossed on, and the permanent upgrades you get resemble MMO structure (as does most of the world, right down to recoloring enemies rather then having a full roster). Along with the intermittently dotted puzzles which feel like they were salvaged out of some discarded puzzle game (granted, this was the main place in which it seemed somewhat true to Zelda, puzzles are hardly abnormal, just the odd physics powers gave off that impression).

HZD on its hand, seemed to be aspiring to open world single player Monster Hunter. I wouldn't say they entirely nailed the strengths of that either. And the open world definitely lacked a certain element of random encounters or interactions between machines (which did exist in the lore and few cutscenes, but generally not dynamically in the world). I'd give it the story strength of BotW, but combat in HZD could get a tad clinical once you learned how to beat a robot, it was a pretty rinse-repeat process for all similar robots. And keeping at range usually kept you out of any viscerally threatening situation.

I imagine some would. Some, like me, don't care for the Souls genre but would like to play Horizon with a control scheme that doesn't suck.

My 2017 game of the year was NieR: Automata.

Anyway it's really cool that it's coming to PC. It's a good game, unfortunately I got distracted by other things not too long after I got it.

I really hope this leads to games like Bloodborne making the jump... as well as the Gravity Rush games.

And of course, because Gamers, some people are salty about this.

https://gamerant.com/horizon-zero-dawn-ps4-pc-port-angry-fan-video-reaction-guerilla-games/

A former exclusive getting a port is enough for some people to rage over because this is a special club only the best are allowed to enter and we can't let the plebs in or something, despite the fact the game is single player so it's not like there's even the shitty excuse of the MP being ruined or something.

If only I could look at everything that's going on in the world right now and decide "I'm gonna be mad about a PS4 game getting a PC port". It must be nice.

At the end of the day, it's just a bitch being bitch. I feel nothing for the guy. What kind of dumb ass trashes their own office over a game not being exclusive anymore? What a pile of wangst! Who the hell is going to pay for the mess you made? Oh right, no one except the guy made it. The only person miserables is you, ya fuck nut. Probably does not have many friends. Not with that attitude.

I am looking forward to the "Insert Blood Related Pun here" PC Edition of BloodBourne.

Prepare to Bleed?
What's that Smell? It's BLOOOD!
Fear the Old Bloodbourne?
Grant us Blud?

I got nothing.
