Video Game Ideas

Video game ideas wanted, no matter how rediculous!

How about an text adventure version of Fallout?

A Mario game crossed with Lemmings/Little Big Planet

Mario is in an empty void, across the void you can see the star, you have a limited number of platforms and obstacles that you can place in the 3D space to get to the star. Could also make it co-op and competitive multiplayer...

dinosaurs in space that attack you while flying around on jet packs.

Wasnt that Dino Crisis 3?

OT: Take Kingdom Hearts, replace the Disney characters with characters from the last 20 years of cartoonnetwork, and replace Final fantasy characters with people from Batman comics. The main character is a 10 year old in a gorilla suit because why not.

wow i never even heard of that game.. why have they not made another one

and instead of batman characters id say nickelodean characters would be a better fit, granted watching jason todd or the joker shoot dee dee from dexters lab would make my day soooooo much better

Ever since playing Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare, I've wanted Rockstar to make an open-world zombie game in a Liberty City-like setting. Like Dead Rising, but without the restrictive time system and a larger location. There are obviously problems with the logistics of zombie games (namely health systems and the amount of people that can be displayed onscreen), but I think if it had a decent story and setup, a sandbox zombie game could be amazing.

An RPG in an urban fantasy/horror setting, in the style of Hellblazer and Sandman comics or World of Darkness pen&paper games.

What about a RPG about a soldier?

As I said before, four stories, each about a pair of two teenagers, that don't intersect with each other until the fifth and final storyline.

An FPS about an Australian Aboriginal warrior, taking place in a mystical, mythological version of Australia based on local myths.

Everybody always goes on and on about Africa, while other continents are simply forgotten!

He said video game ideas, not story ideas. What you said here could just as easily be a book or a movie.

Anyway, to contribute, a cartoony 3D platformer in which you play as a courier who uses magic to get where they need to go. Gaining new abilities along the way, you'll learn kooky spells like making helpful props appear (parachutes, snowboards, pillows, etc), moving stuff around to help, possession to coax animals or people into doing things to help you out, and turning yourself into smoke or liquid to squeeze through tight places.

To quote Yahtzee:

A genetically engineered Taiwanese chef teams up with a newt in a fez to rescue his large bosomed wife from mummies.

A breast cancer specialist with large bosoms journeys through time to pay for a breast enlargement.

A race of blossom people set out on an armada of bosoms to find a new bosom home world.

I hope he hasnt copyrighted any of those ideas yet....hmm.

Bosoms, melons, milk factories, busts, funbags, knockers, balisties, boobies, jugs, nipples, jublies, stonking great tits.

well the market is full of first person and third person shooters so I'd make a second person shooter and replace all the brown with blue

but in all seriousness, think Batman Arkham City, replace the city with a steam punk feudal Japan and replace Batman with a kunoichi. As one of 15 female ninjas in your clan is your responsibility to take care of the Shogun's daughters, an enemy clan has recently invaded and kidnapped all 3 of the Shogun's daughter you are instructed to obtain information on the state of the region and locating and rescuing all three daughters.
The game is divided into 3 arcs, in the 1st arc just for the hell of it you have to save all three daughters and build a relationship with each one, you also get to meet and help fellow clan members.

In the 2nd arc you begin liberating different parts of the region as well as gaining access to all side quests and discovering more about the clan's past and learn there's more to the invasion, at the end of the arc you are rewarded for your commitment to the clan and get to marry and live with any of the Shogun's daughters, you can choose any of the three each one comes with a different perk.

In the 3rd arc you uncover the truth behind the invasion and discover that the other 14 konoichi's are responsible so you set out to make things right and kill all of them, each one is a boss battle and they're all in different parts of the region hiding in different castles, villages, hotels, mines, etc. At the same time your clan is making its final push to take out enemies from the region and they need your help but its optional, still it makes moving around the region easier, like when you liberate an area in Infamous or take down a tower in Assassins Creed. You'll eventually get to a showdown with the final kunoichi and the battle takes place in different parts of the region it begins with a small sword fight that turns to a chase scene making usage of all your gadgets, you then fight on some rooftops jumping from one to the next before turning into another chase scene that leads to a final showdown in a flying war ship.

The game relies heavily on stealth and gadget usage, you'd have your own clan where you can get clan related missions and upgrade your equipment as well as your stats (make less noise while running/walking, bigger health bar, stronger attacks, etc) you can also upgrade your equipment and weapons here. Gadgets would include the standard fare of ninja weapons and the majority are optional except for: hook claw (same as Batman's Batclaw you use it to move around) Smoke Bombs, make quick escapes/disappear from enemy view, Stealth Scarf, gives you the ability to use Ninja view sort of like Batman's predator mode, but instead of going all x-ray and shit, it marks enemy location and status with a big red triangle, it also allows you to blend in with environments (walls, shadows, etc.) as long as you're not moving, and a couple more that I won't bother coming up with since this is a fake game :P

Combat is a mixture of Batman, Assassins Creed, and Legend of Zelda Wind Waker. AND because I'm a bastard like that the main look of characters is based on Dead or Alive mixed with Soul Calibur

A Super Smash Bros. Brawl-type game with shooter characters in a first-person perspective.
You can choose maps, powerups (like medikits and such), and victory conditions, but there are characters and maps from all kinds of classic first person shooters. Goldeneye 007's James Bond, armed with his P99. Doom's Marine, armed with the BFG. Duke Nukem, armed with the mighty boot. Maybe one of the TF2 classes - a crossover FPS.

seing the note of death delivered to the soldiers family you killed in a game, would really make people want to do a no kill run.

RAGE's gameplay and optimization with more varied missions and quests, proper pacing, more varied graphics (seriously why do most games have to be stuck in one environment with one color pallet!?) a story written by Bioware, dialogue written by Naughty Dog's writer, and I will be sold. Quickly.

That actually sounds like a fantastic idea. I'm surprised it's not been done yet.

A game with a decent story that makes sense.

I know, asking a lot aint it =P

Call of Cthulhu FPS. Yay ! Take that you dirty, slimy Shoggoth you. Pew, pew, pew ! ;)

Well I did a whole thread on a single idea of mine; so here it is:

You know that there are already some World of Darkness games and a MMO is in the works.

Text Adventure CoD
Text Adventure TF2
Text Adventure Pong
Hearts of Iron: Wii
A rhythm game that involves giving instructions as a Satnav.
Poke War!

We got quite a lot of Story Ideas and while the AAA Market certainly seems like there's a massive Lack of those i'm virtually certain that the Developers do come up with nice Story Ideas but they all get cut by Publishers who are scared to do something new and then lose millions because no one wants to play the new "Modernized Warfield".
To be fair, the Publishers are usually right; Games with quirky Stories aren't sold al that well for the most Part.

"Game" Ideas would be nice. Come up with the new Tetris.

Maybe some Kind of "electric" Puzzler, in which you have "defend" a City from Lightning by building proper grounding everywhere at first and later you'll get fancy Scifi Machines with which you can influence humidity. Extras could include Planes to inject Clouds with Silver-Iodide.
