Every Wednesday Zero Punctuation picks apart the games so you don't have to. Gamers love it. Developers fear it. You probably know this.
People have tried to make ZP-based games before. But now they'll have to make them to some kind of actual standards, the poor suckers. Let's hope the entries will be as enjoyable to play as they will be to criticize.- Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw
But on August 5th, 2009 we turned it around with the Stonking Great Game Contest. This time, the gamers were the developers, and we challenged them to create a Zero Punctuation-themed flash game for judgement. The grand prize: being reviewed on Zero Punctuation.
The judges? In addition to Yahtzee, of course, a panel of game industry elite graciously volunteered to give the public the same courtesy and respectful criticism that they always receive. When all the entries were in, the judges went to work, and one winner was clear - the grand prize went to Yahtzee's Last Stand!, by Alconja. You can see Yahtzee's full review on Zero Punctuation this Wednesday.
But only showing the winner isn't enough. We felt the only way to truly recognize the cream of the crop for their hard work and dedication would be to let The Escapist community play them. You can find all the entries, and the evaluations, below. Enjoy!
